The takings from the 'free Dublin gig' some years ago was given to two charities here in Ireland , very generous of him I thought at the time as he really was not obliged to do so except the press & everyone else would not let go of it -_- .

He has a good record when it comes to helping out so ...

Can anybody tell me what he said was still on his bucket list? I can't watch the video from my region and on youtube it is bleeped out.

I don't think anyone's found out Lundi

it's hard to figure out what the 'bleep' covers, does it start with the letter B

‘You brought the 15-year-old me back to life last night,’ one fan wrote on social media

British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams certainly entertained his fans in Dubai this weekend. The star, who first rose to fame in 1990s boy band Take That, performed a solo concert at The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah on Friday night, as part of Dubai Shopping Festival celebrations. It is the first time he’s performed in the emirate since 2015.

"Hi everybody, Robbie Williams here. I am in Dubai and I am loving it," the star said in a video he posted to his own Twitter account on Thursday, inviting people to the concert. "Can't wait to see you there. Peace."

Following the release of a new festive album and more solo material, Williams performed a set of old classics and fresh tunes to a captivated crowd of thousands. They were treated to renditions of favourites such as Angels, Let Me Entertain You and Rock DJ.

Dubai mum Kat Lebrasse was particularly impressed. “I don’t ‘fangirl’ over many people, but meeting Robbie Williams, followed by his epic live performance was one for the books!” she wrote in a post on Instagram, with a picture of her and the singer together. “I can’t remember the last time I had a smile on my face for this many hours in a row. @robbiewilliams, you are a true rockstar! You brought the 15-year-old me back to life last night.”

“The guy has still got it!” wrote one Twitter user. “Robbie Williams just fantastic in his Dubai concert at the Pointe. Amazing stuff.”

The National's Jason Von Berg was also there. He had seen Williams once before in South Africa 14 years ago, and he wasn't disappointed the second time around. "He is still good-old, confident, cocky and funny Robbie Williams," he says. "Baring a bout of bronchitis, the Angels singer belted out the big notes and sang all his crowd-pleasing hits. One of the most special highlights (there were several) was him performing Sweet Caroline with his father, Peter."

Replying to @JasonVonBerg

It’s not often one gets to share a stage with your dad. Sweet Caroline, #RobbieWilliams

In between songs, Williams shared some hilarious anecdotes and thanked his wife for being his "rock" and giving him a feeling of wholeness the previously troubled singer had strived for.

Williams is taking a break in Dubai with his family, which includes his three children. Amid his set, he also raved about the desert safari they all went on together.

"All in all, he’s still one of the most incredible, energetic and charismatic entertainers of our time," Von Berg adds. "We let him entertain us and we are here for more."

Robbie Williams brings it all at Dubai show, a review

The deeply personal concert by the singer had its funny moments

D6Bomb3.jpg

From teary-eyed dedications to an audience call on and a cameo from his dad, Robbie Williams’ concert at The Pointe on Friday night had it all.

Initially a slow starter despite opening with the upbeat ‘Let Me Entertain You’, reuniting with Williams came with all the awkwardness of meeting up with an old friend again and being dumbstruck by how old you had all become.

But after a dedication to George Michael with ‘Freedom’ to mark the funeral of the late musician’s sister who was buried earlier that day, he then lightened the tone with some jokes about himself.

“Is anyone else here from the last century,” he quipped before beginning what was essentially more of ‘an audience with’ than a concert.

With ‘Strong’ came the lyrics ‘I’m still young, I’m still young’ before he exclaimed in fright ‘I’m middle aged!’

This broke the ice and left everyone in hysterics as he confronted what everyone must having been thinking of his advanced skinhead look with sequinned silver jacket and dad bod.

Interactions between tracks took the gig more down the path of a stand-up comedy act with some songs thrown in, as the 45-year-old captivated the audience with his British sense of humour and all round ability to hold court.

During ‘Come Undone’ and the line ‘I’m still your son’ he then asked the crowd ‘am I still your son, Dubai?’ before a raucous response.

Jokes about how lyrics had gone from anger and angst in his younger days only to turn into songs about camomile tea and school runs kept cropping up as he addressed his transformation from Take That days to a contented family man, and with that came dedications to his three kids with ‘Love My Life’.

Between this he attempted to shoot merchandise into the crowd with a T-shirt gun if the audience sang along loud enough but it hilariously malfunctioned and left him throwing them into the crowd himself.

Then Francesca, an Italian expat fitness instructor, was called on stage from the crowd ready for Williams to serenade with ‘Something Stupid’ before his dad joined him with ‘Sweet Caroline’ as the concert took a crooner route in reference to his cover albums.

Charismatic, endearing and absolutely wicked, this superstar entertained Dubai

It certainly says something about an iconic world-wide superstar – who kicked off his career back in the '90s – when they can give fans new and old a thrilling performance 30 years as if he hadn’t aged in the slightest. And that something to be said is a well-deserved ‘wow’.

Great reviews. :cheer:

But hang on - this is exactly the same show that he did at Christmas that the UK papers gave two stars to.

and wasn't that the same show that he did in Hyde Park last July that the UK papers gave five stars to?

Wonder who's "right" ? :P

Movers & Shapers: is Robbie Williams moving to Cornwall

Latest whispers from the world of property

We hear a rumour that the pop star Robbie Williams has been spied “moving his stuff” into a house in New Polzeath, Cornwall. Is he the latest celeb to buy in the surf spot? Not as far as any local agents know. As one says: “Robbie has been rumoured to have bought a great many houses in Cornwall over the last 15 years.”

He would be in good company though: fellow boyband survivor James Bourne from Busted owns a house in New Polzeath and the chef Gordon Ramsay has built a beach house in neighbouring Rock. Regular holiday visitors to the county’s north coast include Hugh Grant, Jamie Oliver, Damian Lewis, Harry Enfield and the Camerons
