OFF TOPIC.

But what are you're predictions for the rest of the year folks. We're half-way through.

Personally, I predict Tulisa, Will.I.Am, Little Mix and probably Christina to do well.

Hurts will make a return, score a #1 single, a million-selling album, and they'll become a worldwide smash

I can't wait to hear Adele & Leona collaboration

Erm, no. Unless, they try and fit in the market. That's all artists need to do well.

One could argue that Alexandra Burke killed her career by trying to "fit in the market".

 61. Three Lions - Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds

 89. Vindaloo (Original Radio Edit) - Fat Les

England in the lead at the moment! Three Lions should definitely make the official top 100 this week with the two boosts it's had. When's England's other game?

When's England's other game?

Tuesday night, both games are transmitted at the same time, its a toss up which game you want to see.

Sorry for going off topic.

I don't have a clue what they'll be though, but I bet most of them are already out there.

Sweden have equalised. Loreen to benefit please. :kink:

Edit; Sweden in the lead. 'Euphoria' for #1 (might as well milk it)

Christina? I honestly don't think the UK cares for her anymore. Especially after how bad "Bionic" did. She's a bit like Britney Spears, except Britney was successful in the US during the FF era which didn't do great here. "Bionic" also failed in the US.

I agree with Tulisa and Little Mix. Tulisa's next single will go #1 and I can see Little Mix going #1 with "Wings" as well.

I predict Lucie Silvas to make her long awaited return with Letters To Ghosts and it enters at #1 and becomes the new 21. :coffee:

England back in the lead. Crisis averted, Three Lions for top 40. :D

That's quite true, and there's several songs out there that massive hit potential. It's just a case of them actually getting noticed (Personally, I think "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men could be a hit, but it needs the exposure).

Also, we could safely say that if Rita Ora's next single is "How We Do", then she's likely to get another #1 hit :P

Shake It Out is top 40!? I wonder why the price reduction had such a massive effect on that. The highest "old" song after that is Dirty Talk and that's only #70.

I think it must have had another separate boost as well, because until today the 59p effect had only got it to the low 50s.

Fantastic to see it back though, fingers crossed for another top 40 re-entry next week (after it got to #35 from Dancing On Ice earlier this year) :D

(By the way James, get on MSN).

Yeah. The 20 biggest-selling songs of the past 6 months are:

1 - 1,073,200 - Gotye ft Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

2 - 760,600 - David Guetta ft Sia - Titanium

3 - 756,800 - Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe

4 - 643,000 - Jessie J - Domino

5 - 627,000 - Nicki Minaj - Starships

6 - 589,800 - Flo Rida ft Sia - Wild Ones

7 - 552,400 - Fun ft Janelle Monae - We Are Young

8 - 510,000 - Emeli Sande - Next To Me

9 - 470,800 - Rizzle Kicks - Mama Do The Hump

10 - 405,600 - DJ Fresh ft Rita Ora - Hot Right Now

11 - 358,400 - David Guetta ft Nicki Minaj - Turn Me On

12 - 354,600 - Kelly Clarkson - Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)

13 - 343,400 - Sean Paul - She Doesn't Mind

14 - 331,000 - Alex Clare - Too Close

15 - 319,200 - LMFAO - Sexy & I Know It

16 - 318,400 - Flo Rida - Good Feeling

17 - 300,200 - Tulisa - Young

18 - 287,600 - Alyssa Reid ft Jump Smokers - Alone Again

19 - 285,600 - Katy Perry - Part Of Me

20 - 283,000 - Coldplay - Paradise

So, out of the 20 biggest songs of the past 6 months, ONLY 2 (Starships and Young) were actually premiered during the 6 months.

Part of Me had a demo on Youtube since 2010, Jessie J uploaded a live version of Domino to Youtube last summer, Call Me Maybe was a hit in Canada last Autumn, Flo Rida did a remix of Levels last summer, which eventually got a new instrumental and became Good Feeling, Emeli performed Next to Me on TV last autumn, Sexy and I Know It, Turn Me On and Titanium were all actually top 40 on iTunes last summer! And so on.

So if we had this discussion on January 1st, it would turn out that we already knew most of the songs that would be the biggest hits of the following 6 months. I think it's probably a similar situation this time. I wonder what they'll be though! I have a few ideas obviously, but it's hard to predict imo.
