Considering how similar this is to "Hummingbird" (one of my highlights of the last album), I don't know why I'm finding it so hard to click with this. It's "nice", but nothing more than that really. I can see why they'd pick it as a single, it's much moer cheery sounding than the lyrics/production of the rest of the album, but it's almost too boring for her. (but then I thought that about "Parachute")

'Under The Sun' is a highlight and an obvious single. Get out Aaron.

It is an obvious single, but I'd rank it about midtable on the album. I see that it's quite catchy, but it almost sounds lame in comparison to a lot of the album.

1. Call My Name

2. Screw You

3. Under The Sun

4. Girl In The Mirror

5. A Million Lights

That would be the ideal single release order, but I can see why "Under The Sun" would be released now, being summer and all. "Girl In The Mirror" could (and probably will) be skipped, but I think the others are essential and likely single choices.

'A Million Lights' would be lovely. It'd show people a new side after the dancier first 3 singles and show people she CAN actually release a damn good ballad. ('The Flood' obviously didn't connect with members of the public).
Considering her vocals on 'A Million Lights' are pretty dire, I doubt she'd release it as a single (although I may have mixed it up with another ballad). But then I thought that about 'The Flood'.
I think her voice is alright on "A Million Lights". It uses her lower range, so it's a lot more tolerable than a lot of her other ballads. I love the production too, I thought it was Alex da Kid at first, but he produced "Under The Sun" instead. If she has to release a ballad this era, "A Million Lights" is the only sensible choice.

yea i agree with you about her vocals on that track. The song would be so much better with a stronger vocal

01. Call My Name

02. Under The Sun

03. Mechanics Of The Heart

04. Girl In The Mirror

05. Ghetto Baby (Remix Feat. Lana Del Rey :kink:)

Perfect singles.

She just tweeted that she is in rehearsal for the video! Such a shame, would have preferred screw you

I wouldn't be surprised to see Screw You as a single at some point in the future, TBH. I'd say the same if that was single #2 about Under The Sun.

Good choice I think, not as good as Call My Name (but nothing on the album is IMO ;)) but it'll most likely (hopefully) give her a top ten single.

Not impressed that it's not scheduled for full release until September 10th. :drama:

Well to be fair, that is only three months after "Call My Name"'s release, and it's obviously going to be high up the charts in mid-August, or at least once the video's out (which will be a few weeks before 10 September).

After a few listens of the album, it's definitely my preferred choice of next single out of the two fan-favourites. "Screw You" is missing something for me, but I'm sure I'll love it soon enough.

I'm not getting the hate for this. Obviously 'Screw You' is the fan favourite (which I do love) but I think this is a good choice for the second single, it has a great vibe.

I think 'Mechanics of the Heart' needs to be released at some point, I prefer it over 'A Million Lights'.

Single cover apparently

That's just the screencap of the YouTube album track video! The official video's apparently out on Monday, but I think that's just a rumour as it's far too early for a post-album single due for full release in September.
