Hopefully Carly's track with Owl City will do something over here. It's insanely catchy!

It's a shame that song didn't have the success it merited.

lol. I just meant because I wanted Scream to drop out the top 10 (maybe from Paloma), but it's somehow climbed to #9. Might be another week until it goes now.

ELEVATOR is back!!! :cheer:

Come on, don't tell me this instrumental isn't incredibly catchy and epic. lmao Gotye who?

Gotye >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Timbaland

Sorry Eric, but I'd choose Gotye over Timbaland 10 times out of 10. Gotye really is unique in comparison.

Timbaland is generic in a Timbaland kind of way. :P He produced his best work in 2000, and has been recycling his own sounds since 2006 (Nelly Furtado 'Loose' was some of his most successful commercial work). However, Madonna 'Hard Candy' sounded dated before it even hit the shelves (explains the poor sales - you can't polish a turd). As for 'Elevator', you can :cheer: all you want, but it's practically the backing track to '4 Minutes' in a lower key. I don't actually mind '4 Minutes' by Madonna, but it would've sounded more fresh in 2006.

Timbaland is a bit like the Pete Waterman of the urban world. Everyone else has moved on. Timbaland stills thinks it's 2006.

Slightly off topic but Lily Allen has confirmed that she is working on new music! Can't wait for her return to the charts. I reckon she could still be massive with the right material.

Don't worry, I love Gotye too. The "Gotye who?" comment was a joke.

The only thing I hate about Timbaland is that he popularized electropop in 2006, paving the way for a load of songs I hate to become hits. I think with Madonna, it would've been better if she did the 4 Minutes album in 2005, and then the Give Me All Your Luvin album in 2008.

Timbaland's most influential work was in the late 90's actually.

Owl City - they're still around?

Lily's music is needed

It's a HE :teresa:

Having only heard the track, 'Good Times', once, I have to say I am impressed. Hopefully the popularity of Carly Rae Jepsen at the moment and the talking-point 'return' of Owl City will be enough to spark it as a hit. It's released in the US at the end of the month, just hoping they don't delay it's release in the UK.

How is Lady Antebellum still as high as #24 on iTunes - almost three weekends after the Jubilee concert. I'm both impressed and dumbfounded.

According to my dad Heart are now hammering it

I hope Call Me Maybe can stay in the top 10!

Yes, and he's been releasing albums and EPs almost as fast as Rihanna, just... without much mainstream success.

191. Carrie Underwood - Blown Away :o :o

Looking at a top 15 album as well, SUPERSTAR.

(I know, not really but when the best singer of all time gets anything other than the #93 album she somehow managed a couple of years ago I'm dying of excitement.)

I will be sad if she doesn't get top ten with the album now, after seeing it there in the mids. :P

I swear the album went top ten on iTunes last night but it dropped back a few minutes after. I even took a screencap...

I can't remember if it was last Friday, or the Friday before last but I was watching "Fresh New Music" on Chart Show TV whilst eating my dinner, and they played 'Before He Cheats'.

There was me thinking "yeah, this is really fresh".

I'm being realistic, albums usually fall from the mid position but hopefully she doesn't fall too far :( It deserves #1 with 500k sales first week ;)

 Some people have taste at least :P
