October 15, 201212 yr I've now ordered this from Amazon, I tried looking for it in the shops but it's nowhere to be found thus far...Amazon reckon they'll take two weeks to despatch it too which seems ridiculous.
October 16, 201212 yr I tried looking for it in the shops but it's nowhere to be found thus far... It may or may not have been in my local WH Smiths, but they've rearranged their shelves, so I have no idea where their music books are now. I didn't want to ask a member of staff, as I had no intention of buying it from there - I was just going to check it out.
October 16, 201212 yr Is "Spice" & "Welcome to the pleasuredome" the only 2 studio albums to have 2 million+ selling singles? If I could find the million sellers thread I'd be able to deduce this myself I'm sure. My god I love buzzjack but I can't search this forum at all, I never find what I'm looking for!

October 16, 201212 yr Has Use Somebody sold a million yet? If so, Kings Of Leon's Only By The Night would have 2... Lord help us. :(
October 16, 201212 yr Reading this thread made me dig through my old books, and I found one from 2002 called 'Top 100 Singles', published for the 50th anniversary of the NME, and detailing the best-selling 100 singles in the UK. There were 76 million sellers, although judging by some discussions on this subject there may have been some innaccuracies. I have that book also.
October 16, 201212 yr So has anyone got the book in a uk shop or like everything now do we have to get it online through non tax paying retailers?

If I could find the million sellers thread I'd be able to deduce this myself I'm sure. My god I love buzzjack but I can't search this forum at all, I never find what I'm looking for! Me2! We could do with better indexing perhaps. I used to be able to find the year end charts easily but now its a hassle every time they don't seem to be pinned where they used to be Has Use Somebody sold a million yet? If so, Kings Of Leon's Only By The Night would have 2... last I remember VC's figure no though he'd be the one to check with! (He will usually mention any passing as well) I usually look for these in the shops as I feel somehow then they'll keep getting future ones in but they're often really hard to find and double the price which just isn't a good deal. Last couple of time I bought chart books I looked in Smith's or Waterstones or release week, they weren't there so I ordered from amazon. A couple weeks later I'm sometimes seen they've appeared in the shops but by then its too late...
October 16, 201212 yr Author 'Somebody That I Used To Know' has sold approximately 1,262,5000 UK copies, to date - W/E 20th October. 'Call Me Maybe' has sold approximately 1,069,500, to date. The 'Top 100 Singles' Book, from 2002, was so full of mistakes, that I gave up making a Note of them, when I'd found all the errors in the 'write-ups' on Million Sellers 1 to 50, in it. I've never seen so many mistakes in a Book, before. Edited October 16, 201212 yr by zeus555

October 16, 201212 yr The Book Depository is saying that the book will be published in May 2013 :S http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/97817...p;utm_source=GB I was going to order from Amazon tonight, I think I wait a bit, there seems to be a bit of a confusion here.
October 16, 201212 yr It wouldn't be the first time Amazon have stated that a book would be published on a certain date only for it to end up being months later.

This time next year, '21' by Adele will have a 1.5 and a 1 million seller.
October 16, 201212 yr Has Use Somebody sold a million yet? If so, Kings Of Leon's Only By The Night would have 2... Not even close. 935k perhaps.
October 16, 201212 yr The publication date of 15th October is literally the day they start coming off the press though I presume? So it takes a few days to get through to shops I'd've thought, especially as a lot of retailers only get new stuff in on one day a week, where I work books/CDs/DVDs come in on a Wednesday. It's also a possibility that they could have delayed publication due to a sudden flood of additional million sellers to the original list, they do seem to come fairly regularly these days, but then they'd be waiting forever if they are.
October 16, 201212 yr I am VERY interested in this. I love me these geeky chart books. The internet can't replace a good physical resource.
October 17, 201212 yr "Published to mark the 60th anniversary of the launch of the Official Singles Charts in 1952, The Million Sellers tells the story of every million-selling single in the history of the UK music industry. An analysis of the 123 singles which have passed the magical million sales threshold in the UK in the past 60 years, from Bill Haley & The Comets very first UK million-seller right through to more recent singles by Lady Gaga, Rihanna and the Black Eyed Peas. Interviews with some of the artists reflecting on their memories of their million sellers and what they remember of the success at the time At a-glance facts and data outlining the songwriters, producers, albums and total sales figures for the million selling track." from Amazon. So. 123 is the magic number....
