I think it'll be available this Sunday/Monday. The 2nd September could be the "general release"/the release date which is given for things like CDs or whatever. (There probably won't be a single CD release, but it's the only way I can put it ) Plus the UK works completely different to everywhere else. We're only just starting to get to grips with a proper OA/OS sort of releases. P!nk seems to know how to handle her OA/OS releases though. 'Raise Your Glass' was huge despite a "low" peak.

I've tried to pretend to understand what OA/OS release means for a long time, I give up  wtf does it mean? :P

On Air On Sale :P basically the song is added to itunes etc the same time it premieres on radio.

"On Air/On Sale" - As soon as it gets it's premiere on radio/Vevo/however they premiere it, they release it to iTunes. It usually results in a very slow and steady climb to it's peak as opposed to having a date 2 months away, peaking first week and bombing out of the charts...

Some popular OA/OS tracks could go something like... 28-16-14-15-10-{4}-5-5-{4}-etc...

Held back releases tend to go... {1}-2-9-23-39-76-OUT.

Gotye's song was "OA/OS" his run so far is... (It's the ultimate OA/OS track imo)

36-21-7-3-{1}-3-{1}-{1}-{1}-{1}-3-5-3-3-6-7-10-9-10-9-17-17-16-19-20 (25 weeks)

Compare that with Chris Brown's 'Turn Up The Music' (which was a held back release - if P!nk released on 2nd Sept like rumoured, then she could be in danger of having a similar chart run to this...)

{1}-5-9-20-23-19-19-36-> 8 Weeks top 40.

Sorry for the lengthy reply (when it could have done with less probably but I wanted to give some examples of OA/OS compared to held back releases. If they get it right, it could be one of the biggest hits of the year. Held back releases seem to get high peaks (number 1) quite early but have swift falls and don't seem to trouble the Year End top 40.

Thanks :D

Oh there are obviously down sides to OA/OS too. Don't go in thinking success is guaranteed.

what are the down sides?

I think its a good idea, because like I said before, anyone who isnt a huge fan of Pink will just get the mp3 by ripping the audio from youtube etc, and then not buying it when it is released, thats what i'd do for an artist I'm not a huge fan of.

Kylie's 'Timebomb' flopped horribly. Because sometimes if your song doesn't stay top 40 for too long, radio may completely ignore it with this OA/OS. (They don't quite grasp OA/OS just yet)

It's complete run was: {31}-{31}-56-51-58->OUT of Top 75.

She would have been better off with a held back release, because of her fanbase. OA/OS there's a chance the artists core fanbase could miss that their favourite artist have a new song out or something.

IT WAS ALL PARLO'S FAULT! THEY SHOULDA RELEASED ON THE MONDAY AND NOT THE FRIDAY

On air/on sale rarely works in the UK and they'd be daft to try it with P!nk. She's not somebody with a huge media presence or a hugely devoted fanbase. She wins over a lot of casual fans with every campaign and they need to hear the song before they buy. If it's released immediately and flops into at the low 20s first week that gives radio an excuse not to play it (unlikely though given how utterly radio tailored the song is). Ideally the video would come out pretty much now and they'd give it 2 weeks to get a decent number of plays on youtube and premiere across radio, and then put it on iTunes.

'Raise Your Glass' did well for OA/OS. Yes it got a low peak of #13, but it still managed 14+ weeks in the top 40 (I think it's now passed 400k in sales? Could be wrong). (More than most number 1's of this year) But I guess that was down to it being the lead from a highly anticipated 'Greatest Hits' collection and she'd just finished a ridiculously successful era (especially radio hit wise, so radio were always going to back RYG whether it was shit or not). It's been a while since then though, so I can see what you're saying. It does need to get a bit of buzz around it before it does anything in the UK and P!nk's songs always seem to take a while to get that amount of buzz.
Was RYG OA/OS? I'm remember hearing at least a couple of weeks before release.
I think we got it a couple of weeks later, but it was still OA/OS for us. (Released before the actual release date IIRC.)
This is really great, I hope it can do very well here in the UK!! Perfect and Raise Your Glass both did very well, so I hope this does too. (But gets a better peak, if it was held back it probably could challenge for top 3.)
It's starting to fall in the US on itunes :( down to #32, i think at its highest it was #29. Im sure it'll climb again once radio play picks up though.

Listened to this a few times and I really like it, the intro is amazing.

The CD-Single for Blow Me (One Last Kiss) will be released in Germany (maybe in Austria & Switzerland too) on July 27th.

It's a 2TracksCD featuring a new song called "The King Is Dead But The Queen Is Alive"

It's now (finally) top 10 on US iTunes thanks to a banner that is now being used on the front page of iTunes. It seems people generally weren't aware P!nk had a new song out (apart from the die hards, obviously). Good news :D
