I just find it funny how many artist find it so hard to go top 40 with a track but Dappy has just released a net video and has gone top 20 :lol:

 

I've always wondered how well like all those mixtape songs, diss tracks, remixes, etc. would do if they were put for paid downloads, rather than given away for free. Most of them probably wouldn't do very well, but I think some would get in the chart. Like I think The Warning by Eminem (the Mariah Carey diss) would've gone top 10, everybody was going on about that for weeks when it came out. And that song Jay-Z did about his baby a few months ago might've charted (it actually charted in the US off airplay alone!).

I didn't actually mind 'Rockstar'. :blush: But of course I wouldn't ever listen to it out of choice, and the man is vermin of the highest order.

Dappy's just so much of a prat that I just find it funny how worked up he gets everyone :lol: at least he's added some sense of excitement to what was looking like an incredibly dull week musically! the song is what it is really, I can't really say much else.

oh wow, I've been there! only 'dynamite' was played instead at my school. it was so uncomfortable to be around.

I mean, we had an assembly about the song. Basically, one of the science teachers basically got a load of pop songs, and got lyrics from them and ranted about them (mainly making jokes about the slang or whatever). He started off talking about I Need You, and he was like "Well, what are "bang bang shoes", exactly? blah blah blah". And he read some of the lyrics from Supernova by Mr. Hudson, and he was like "If your girlfriend was a supernova, you'd be accelerating towards each other at "x" miles per hour, and the temperature would be "y" degrees centigrade, it's just not realistic", and then Heartless by Kanye West, and he was like "If you were heartless, the blood would stop being pumped around your body, and you would eventually die. Your skin would decompose, then your flesh, blah blah blah", and Baby By Me by 50 Cent, he was like "We know 50 Cent is rich, but does he honestly have enough millions to split between his children. Based on this calculation, blah blah blah". And so on. For like 10 minutes just doing that.

 

It was really awkward, because nobody could tell if he was being serious or not, or whether he was trying to be funny. He seemed to be getting genuinely stressed about some of the lyrics in the songs. But then again, it was awkward at the time, but it makes me laugh looking back, and it's like the only school assembly that I still remember now, so I guess it was good in some ways. :lol:

I'm sad to think Jessie J - Domino will re-enter the chart this week, she's by far the most overplayed artist in the Uk for the past year, I can't seem to like any of her songs for that reason!

Dappy - Rockstar >>> Nickelback - Rockstar. And they're both fucking horrible.

 

I'm pretty sure people will like Dappy's next 'official' song ... I can't stand the man but 'Come With Me' is really quite good.

 

Trouble is, releasing a track like this and starting any number of feuds, he's killed any goodwill that there may have been towards him in the first place.

No church in the wild deserves to be massive - better than no37 anyway - its annoying cos its official chart position seems to always be lower than its itunes peak - prob out of the top 40 this week unfort!!
