Blur are falling. This makes me :(

It's the UK.**

Dappy was always going to overtake Blur sooner or later. :(

**let's see if Dappy ever has a successful hit outside the UK & Ireland.

Blur and Dappy will both be extremely frontloaded. I suspect Dappy wouldn't have overtaken if he'd released at the same time as Blur.

Also, it just occurred to me that The Puritan is the B-Side of Under The Westway, hence it doing so much worse - shame as it's a superior song by miles.

I don't think Dappy will ever have a hit outside of the UK, because he's probably not allowed in a lot of countries due to his criminal record.

N-Dubz did get a US record deal with Def Jam (which is why they had high profile US producers on their last album, rather than it being mostly Fazer produced like usual), but they got dropped quite soon after (probably when they realized they weren't marketable in the US.).

I think Blur will chart higher officially this week tbh.

No Church in the Wild up to #33!!! :w00t: It would be brilliant if it got 2 weeks in the top 40!!

I'm going to take this minor and possibly entirely coincidental rise for No Church In The Wild as proof that coming out is in fact good for your career.

Given the stagnancy of this week in general, I think it's pretty fair to assume a climb as big as 7 places (within the top 40) can't be down to randomness. Frank's coming out must have caused this.

I don't know who I want to go to number one this week, Don't Wake Me Up & Payphone are arguably 2 of my five favourite songs so far of 2011, especially Payphone.

Bubbling under

140. Turn Up the Love (feat. Cover Drive) - Far East Movement

153. The Fighter (feat. Ryan Tedder) - Gym Class Heroes

199. I Just Want a Lover - Will Young

224. National Anthem - Lana Del Rey

236. Both of Us (feat. Taylor Swift) - B.o.B

299. Lost In The Echo - Linkin Park

395. Under the Sun - Cheryl

479. Liquorice - Azealia Banks

711. Power & Control - Marina & the Diamonds

Ugh. I wish these would hurry up and get a serious move on. In particular 'Both Of Us'! Marina isn't surprising she's flopping (it's a terrible single choice) but it's a decent song that deserves to go top 75 at least :( Hopefully now that 'The Fighter' has been playlisted by radio 1, it'll go on to be a big hit for both artists.

I'm Coming (Tarzan Part 2) - Dappy  #16

In the words of Lily Allen: "Dappy's new tune is jokes, in a good way. Thoroughly entertaining and insightful which is more than I can say for most things on the radio. And also, since when is pop music meant to be politically correct? Why people are so shocked by it is beyond me."

I'm pretty certain these songs did not exist in 2011. :P

 48 David Guetta ft Chris Brown & Lil Wayne/ I Can Only Imagine. Looks this could be to the iTunes Top40 soon.

143 Drake/ Crew Love (ft. The Weeknd) Perhaps this being added to the Radio 1 playlist could help it climb up into the Top100 possibly?

How long do people think Dappy will hold until I'm Coming (Tarzan Part 2) starts to eventually drop down?

Ooh, 'Crew Love' pretty high there already - that supports my theory that it could end up being as big as 'Find Your Love' (or maybe, failing that, at least as big as 'No Church In The Wild')! :D
4th of July by Kelis is no. 58 on the Electronic Chart

Slow-burner. <3

4th of July by Kelis is no. 58 on the Electronic Chart

 I posted that on my Facebook wall and tweeted it for the occasion. That song deserved so much more than it got, it's amazing. :(

I remember watching Kelis performing 4th of July on TV once. It's such a weird song (although that applies to a lot of Kelis's songs ).

My favourite song from her last album was Brave.

I don't think I will EVER see the fuss in Kelis (beyond 'Lil Star', 'Millionaire' and 'Not In Love' at least). I find her pretty boring and she's responsible for 2 of my least favourite songs ever ('Caught Out There' and 'Milkshake' - both vile). There's nothing interesting about her or her songs to me. It's strange because I should love her.

I love this spoof of Milkshake:

Not a Kelis fan though, TBH.
