I can't believe how EASY it is for Taylor to get to number 1 on US iTunes! It's astonishing.

Is there any particular reason Tegan & Sara are #48 with 'Closer'? They're not really the type of act I'd expect to break the top 500 on iTunes, let alone the top 50!

It's intelligent programming on itunes side. They have code in there to prevent people buying shite. Unfortunately the code to prevent people buying Taylor Swift has failed dramatically.

And considering almost the whole past 12 months has been only adult-contemporary songs getting to #1, it's not like those sorts of songs topping the Hot 100 is a regular thing.
