Eric_Blob and Big Mistake, I forgot about the change of rules (again) giving imp. to streaming, etc. Yeah, all things considered, top 5 is probably the safest bet.

Train '50 Ways To Say Goodbye' is at #16! Never realised it got as high as this. Such a good song though!

Ugh. Was hoping Cher could climb a little higher thanks to her "Today" performance. Hopefully 'Oath' will still take off! It deserves to and I can't see it not taking off tbh.

Oath will kick off, it has just gone into the top 50 on radio play.. takes time

I assume there's another Taylor Swift track being released (unleashed) at midnight

Has anyone noticed the 'Pitch Perfect' album at #2 on the iTunes albums chart.

It's like a Glee album, just from a movie

Im sick & tired of that taylor girl when will she lose her selling power? it has to end 1 day ugh!!

She will never ever lose her selling power. Like, ever.

 that's great

I find it weird how they all love her so much :o she still seems pretty random to me as much as I like Love Story & Back Together

She's very popular with Republicans. And she's also the type of singer that parents would actively encourage their children to like, since she's seen as a good role model. Her music also has appeal to adults aswell (well, some of her songs).

Plus, this new song is amazing and different for her! It's SO GOOD :o

Yeah, I mean... I think it's similar to, say, Westlife back in the day. They had a big enough fanbase to essentially guarantee a no. 1 debut with pretty much any song at any time. There were enough young girls and their moms to sustain this for a decade. Taylor Swift appears to have captured the same rare but coveted demographic.

Also keep in mind no other popular artist is following her label's strategy of releasing new singles one by one. It goes against all convention and the old time radio people probably HATE it. Hence, Billboard's move back in favor of an airplay-dominated Hot 100 formula. And in this case, can you blame them? Who would want five Taylor Swift #1s in a row? Hello Elvis/UK/2005/etc.

No, this is a pretty common strategy in the run up to an album release. It's just no one else has Taylor's ridiculous strike rate. She's always extremely frontloaded anyway so it's be more like 5 new Taylor Swift top 3s in 5 weeks then 5 Taylor Swift #1s in a row.

Popular with Republicans... it says it all really.

Yes, Republicans do have notoriously terrible music taste, don't they?

One Direction as low as #10 already :o

Ellie as high as #83 with 'My Blood' and #115 with 'Figure 8' - I'm really glad to see her doing so well and the two songs I'd rather have as the next singles are doing the best! :D 'Lights' has randomly rebounded to #29 too which is brilliant.
