July 11, 201213 yr Do people seriously think Misha B could take number one???? Low sales or not, that aint EVER going to happen.
July 11, 201213 yr Do people seriously think Misha B could take number one???? Low sales or not, that aint EVER going to happen. I don't. If Marcus Collins couldn't get #1, I don't think she can do any better, she would have to sell over 70k plus to get a #1 at the moment can't see her doing that let alone 30k. As for the track I think its a mess I had to turn it off after a minute of listening to it, surely she can do better. To be honest I can't see anything getting to #1 till Calvin Harris & Example releases, unless something else comes out of the woodwork like Florence + The Machine. The new track from Owl City need to get its skates on, I can see a potential #1 there, at least 3 to 4weeks. Future #1s 16 July don't know maybe Florence/Maroon 5/Nicki Minaj 23 July don't know maybe Florence/Maroon 5/Nicki Minaj 30 July Calvin Harris & Example 6 Aug Calvin Harris & Example 13 Aug Rita Ora 20 Aug Little Mix/Rita Ora
July 11, 201213 yr I don't. As for the track I think its a mess I had to turn it off after a minute of listening to it, surely she can do better. Marcus Collins isn't exactly a fair comparison, his song was a cheap cover for a start and I don't remember R1 playlisting it like they have done with Misha. That said, I'm not expecting Misha to go to #1 but she should (hopefully) go top 10 at least.
July 11, 201213 yr Do people seriously think Misha B could take number one???? Low sales or not, that aint EVER going to happen. I don't think it will either. she wasn't very popular on the x factor, and azealia banks (who does what she does much better) couldn't even go top 10. I can only see her doing the same.
July 11, 201213 yr Rita Ora should bring her release date forward, nothing else will challenge for #1. I'm really hoping Nicki Minaj might benefit from this and Pound The Alarm sneak a week in. Calvin Harris/Example is likely to also hit #1. As for Misha B, I think she has the potential to go #1. It depends on whether the public are still hung over the XF issues. Conor Maynard will probably get close to #1 but miss out. His new song is very poor (a weak Can't Say No) and it will probably be a fanbase buy only. I think Karmin could be a surprise hit, maybe get #1? I don't think so but it could go top 3. Other than these potential contenders, Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen will be massive. It just depends on when they release. Imo if they release this Sunday it will built up popularity and become a nice long running #1 hit.

That said, I'm not expecting Misha to go to #1 but she should (hopefully) go top 10 at least. That's true I can't really compare Misha B to Marcus Collins, at least she get there in the end with the right track, I just don't think the track is #1 material.
July 11, 201213 yr I know there's no confirmation as such but I wonder if something Olympics related could get to #1 in a few weeks? All it will take is a performance on the opening ceremony or background music to be played at a key event. Some of the events are going to get massive ratings so it wouldn't surprise me at all.
July 11, 201213 yr I think we're about to head into the dreaded summer one week wonder period. 16th Jul #1 Misha B – Home Run (kinda like 'Swagger Jagger' would only need 66k to be #1, sales will plummet in week 2) #20 Hot Chelle Rae – I Like It Like That #74 Kasabian - Switchblade Smiles +75 King Charles feat Mumford & Sons - The Brightest Light 23rd Jul #1 Conor Maynard – Vegas Girl #2 Karmin - Brokenhearted #3 Cedric Gervais – Molly #24 Madeon – Finale #33 B.o.B feat Taylor Swift - Both Of Us #35 Usher feat Rick Ross – Lemme See #46 Cascada – Summer Of Love #71 Scissor Sisters - Baby Come Home +75 Clement Marfo & The Frontline feat Ghetts - Champion +75 Marina & The Diamonds – Power & Control +75 Sander Van Doorn - Nothing Inside 30th Jul #1 Calvin Harris feat Example – We'll Be Coming Back (CDS+12”) #10 Ian Carey & Rosette feat Timbaland & Brasco – Amnesia #13 Lawson - Taking Over Me #15 Gym Class Heroes feat Ryan Tedder - The Fighter #16 Wiley feat Ms D – Heatwave #29 Far East Movement feat Cover Drive - Turn Up The Love +75 Drumsound & Bassline Smith – Through The Night +75 Jodie Connor feat Busta Rhymes - Take You There 6th Aug (what a rubbish week for new releases) #25 Of Monsters And Men – Little Talks #28 Drake feat The Weeknd - Crew Love #35 Jennifer Lopez feat Flo Rida - Goin' In #40 Redlight – Lost In Your Love #44 Alex Clare – Hummingbird #55 Ben Howard - Old Pine #58 N/A Paloma Faith - 30 Minute Love Affair +75 Basshunter – Northern Light +75 Madonna – Turn Up The Radio +75 Ryan O'Shaughnessy - No Name 13th Aug #1 Rita Ora - How We Do (Party) #36 George Michael – White Light (CDS) #39 Aiden Grimshaw – Curtain Call +75 2 Shoes – Turn Me On (Turn Me Out) 20th Aug #1 Little Mix – Wings #20 D'Banj - Scape Goat #27 Devlin feat Ed Sheeran - Watchtower 27th Aug #1 Fazer – Killer #14 Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy #18 Alyssa Reid feat Snoop Dogg – The Game Coming Soon #11 Cheryl – Under The Sun #17 David Guetta feat Chris Brown and Lil Wayne - I Can Only Imagine +75 Lloyd feat Chipmunk - Do It Again #39 Michel Telo - Ai Si Eu Te Pego [3rd Sep] #9 Nicki Minaj - Pound The Alarm #38 One Direction – More Than This #8 Pink - Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
July 11, 201213 yr That's true I can't really compare Misha B to Marcus Collins, at least she get there in the end with the right track, I just don't think the track is #1 material. It does bug me when people have said this, so many singles have gone to #1 despite "not being #1 material". Misha will most likely not go to #1, but it IS a strong contender and stranger things have happened...

Misha will most likely not go to #1, but it IS a strong contender and stranger things have happened... I think Misha should be pretty safe for #1 next week, she won't have to sell that much to get there and from what I understand she has big support from TV channels and she has Radio 1 backing as well. Plus she's far more marketable (singles-wise anyway) than Marcus. I haven't actually heard the song yet but I quite liked her on the show, although she was a bit hit-and-miss. Re: 'stranger things have happened' - one big example of that is what's looking reasonably likely to go to #1 THIS week! :P Edited July 11, 201213 yr by Bré

July 16, 201212 yr I've just listened to this "Molly" by Cedric Gervais, and would like to know what you're all on?!? Is that computerised voice asking where Molly is meant to be some kind of gimmick? I've never heard anything so atrocious in my life :puke2:

July 16, 201212 yr Looking at those average scores, most of them seem reasonable. But personally I think Lawson, Wiley and Fazer are massive contenders for #1, I'd be very surprised if any of those three miss the Top 5 (as the averages indicate)
July 16, 201212 yr A new week, did you want me to show you the upcoming releases we haven't predicted yet? Edited July 16, 201212 yr by MatthewFirth
July 16, 201212 yr Hmmm I'm worried that Little Mix might miss the chance of number 1 as it's only a week after Rita Ora. However, Rita might be very frontloaded as it's being held back so much.
July 16, 201212 yr I've just listened to this "Molly" by Cedric Gervais, and would like to know what you're all on?!? Is that computerised voice asking where Molly is meant to be some kind of gimmick? I've never heard anything so atrocious in my life :puke2: Agrees. :D Without the horrid robotic vocals and constant referring to Molly in each sentence, it'd make a brilliant instrumental. I'd like to think there are reasons why tracks like Robert Miles 'Children', Eric Prydz 'Pjanno' and (to a lesser extent because of a mash up) Tim Berg 'Bromance' didn't require any vocals. They just worked perfectly fine without them.
July 16, 201212 yr Owl City's next album is out on 20th August apparently, according to iTunes. Curious to see when they'll release Good Time now...
