Pleased to see Calvin Harris ahead of Shurr :D AND YAY @ Shakira and Pitbull. (And Havana Brown and Pitbull tbh, only just spotted it).

Ellie top 5 ^_^ Great rise for Cher too, hopefully top 20 next week.

Really poor start for Pink but she'll shoot up next week and the week after now that she's actually doing well on iTunes.

Very slow progress for Chasing The Sun, I thought it'd be a little higher by now. I'm pleased for the Cher, Calvin, One Direction and Ellie climbs!

I know it say every week but yet again I will - Ellie is doing fantastic! Top 100 on Billboard seemed impossible for her not too long ago tbh and now she's top 5!

I just approve of the 'British invasion' thing altogether really, Marina next please :P It'd be nice for Rebecca Ferguson to at least have an R&B hit as well, even if she didn't crack the pop top 40 (as I'm aware artists like her tend to not do so well pop-wise).

Lovely for Cher! Also amazing about Nicki Minaj beating 'I Gotta Feeling''s top 10 streak thing. :o
Does this mean Ed Sheeran could finally make the top 100 next week?

Huh?

Top 10 hit is nothing the be ashamed of. It's also sold platinum (over 1 million)

CLimax peaking at #17 is more disappointing imo. Fabulous song.

Have you heard the songs though? They obviously expected Climax to flop, he only did that song because of the criticism he got because of More, Dirty Dancer, etc.

Usher's had a plethora of #1s during his career, and they clearly thought Scream would get to #1 aswell. It's done awfully. They're probably panicking right now.

Titanium in the top 10 :o

I never thought this Guetta song can be as high as this in the US.

I must admit I haven't followed the US charts for years now :(

Climax was EXCELLENT. I really hoped that was the direction his new album would take, but nope, it's more generic europop (which is usually a good thing for me, but I don't really want it from this kind of artist).

He could always come out, doesn't seem to have harmed Frank Ocean :D

Lemme See is climbing at #51 vying to become a big success on urban radio. I don't really see the problem (except his poor opening sales for the album)

I bet Chris Brown's team is panicking even more with no hit in sight.

Cher Lloyd should easily be top 20 next week being top 5 on itunes now...

huge climb for Pink too next week, shame that the song isn't that good by he standards.

So pleased for Ellie getting a top five hit, absolutely amazing. Even more amazing that it got released in America like this time last year!

Nice to see her making a bit of Hot 100 history ^_^

Ellie Goulding snares her own slice of Hot 100 history, as "Lights" lifts 6-5. In its 29th frame, the song completes the longest climb to the chart's top five not aided by country-to-pop crossover success or multiple releases. Lonestar's "Amazed" (2000) holds the overall record with a 30-week ascent to the top five, pumped by pop and adult radio crossover success after its initial run at country radio. Los Del Rio's "Macarena" (1996) and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1992) also each reached the top five in their 29th frames in their second release cycles

Well that's a VERY tiny bit, I've been laughing about that record for a week now. In the world of Billboard, there's a record for practically anything.

The best one I've seen was something like "highest debut for a male/female country trio" (Lady Antebellum) which means there are two or three acts around that can possibly achieve it.

But good for Ellie, she has a huge smash hit of course.

Usher's album, I really like overall. It's got *only* 3 europop songs on it (the other two are by Swedish House Mafia), but it's disappointing, since those will almost certainly be the next two singles, and then just as we think he'll have to release an RnB song he'll have a re-release with a load more dance songs prepared. Most people will never know Usher has those RnB songs on his album, because Scream and Euphoria will be his only well-known songs, and people will assume the entire album is like that (which is why his album sales have been so poor imo).

I'm more excited for Chris's album campaign, since he only has two dance-pop songs on his album, and he's already used them both, so he HAS to (pretty much) release an urban song as a single now. So that's a bit more exciting. Just have to wait for Don't Wake Me Up to completely die down (not that it's doing much in the first place). I think/hope he'll go with Bassline, it's rather like Look At Me Now which was hit biggest hit from his previous album, and sold very well on downloads both in the UK and US, and has big crossover potential imo.

I wish they'd both do pure RnB albums like Frank Ocean tbh. I think Frank's albums will outsell both of theirs (hopefully, and deservedly so), so hopefully that'll open the eyes of Chris, Usher, Nicki, etc. Drake and Adele both had very successful albums without having to release eurodance single (and even had Hot 100 hits with their singles), so I don't know why people like Chris and Usher are being so cowardly about this.
