July 15, 201214 yr RESULT!!!! :D: Perfect #1  I just listed Spectrum as OCC has done with it, without the extra bits in brackets. Since MW have also listed the track like that.
July 15, 201214 yr Yay! Florence + the Machine are number one! :cheer: Good to see Nicki Minaj’s Pound the Alarm in the Top 10, and Lady Antebellum reaching a new peak! :D Big drop for Labrinth after going up and down the Top 20 for ages. Ugh at LMFAO back in the Top 40, but at least Rizzle Kicks are back in. Brand new Top 2 albums, but unfortunately, the number one will be on about 25k :( Not good to see big drops for Bee Gees, Linkin Park or Amy Macdonald, but nice to see Keane going up and Lady Antebellum back in the Top 40. I would have though Florence + the Machine’s Ceremonials would have climbed further though.
July 15, 201214 yr I love to see Maroon 5 at #1 next week, it be quite a wicked chart run 1-2-1-2-(1) :D
July 15, 201214 yr I love to see Maroon 5 at #1 next week, it be quite a wicked chart run 1-2-1-2-(1) :D Even better would be if it was deleted due to being banned or something and went 1-2-1-2-OUT :D
July 15, 201214 yr 104-1 is probably the biggest climb to #1 in a long time. And National Anthem also got a massive boost due to its release week (not as big as Spectrum, but still ). Edited July 15, 201214 yr by Eric_Blob
July 15, 201214 yr Singles: 01 104 02 Florence + The Machine Spectrum Source: MW/OCC Amazing!!! 2012 is turning out to be a brilliant year for UK #1 singles. ^_^
July 15, 201214 yr 104-1 is probably the biggest climb to #1 in a long time. That's going to be a sticky point its classed as a new entry to the top 100 though, but 2 weeks in the top 200.
July 15, 201214 yr Nation's Favourite Number One effect 82. [RE] The Verve – Drugs Don’t Work 84. [136] Ben E King – Stand By Me 98. [RE] The Animals – The House of the Rising Sun 99. [RE] Coolio feat LV – Gangsta’s Paradise 100. [RE] Sinead O’Connor – Nothing Compares 2 U Great to see The Verve and Sinead O'Connor back in the Top 100 :D
July 15, 201214 yr I love how some Cheryl stans were saying that even if she was #2 behind Bieber she'd easily be number one in 2-3 weeks because she'd *only* need to sell around 20k. #34 on week 4?! OUCH!
July 15, 201214 yr I didn't think Florence + The Machine would ever get a #1 hit after You Got The Dirtee Love but wow! Great song too (although not my favourite from the era.) I wonder if more artists will turn to commercial remixes to be promoted as well now? Also, get that top 100 smash Lana! :kink: :D
July 15, 201214 yr 16 17 28 Gotye Feat. Kimbra Somebody That I Used To Know What is the record for consecutive weeks in the Top 20?
July 15, 201214 yr It's technically not consecutive because of the 97-36-21- before it entered the top 20. Ask Bré though, I'm sure he can find out in an instant! :P
July 15, 201214 yr Author It's technically not consecutive because of the 97-36-21- before it entered the top 20. Ask Bré though, I'm sure he can find out in an instant! :P It's actual weeks in the top 20 are consecutive, that bit was before its top 20 run so a bit irrelevant. In any case, the longest consecutive run in the top 20 is at least 36 weeks, which is what Frankie Laine's 'I Believe' did - it's possible someone else did more but nothing immediately springs to mind.
July 15, 201214 yr Such unexpected #1s this week. So Delighted for Florence, even if it isn't her strongest song. The remix really does make it better.
July 15, 201214 yr wow Bananarama at number 62!!!! Great!!! i'm sure it's the copy i bought from the Heathrow airport on my way to my home country last Monday which made all the difference!!! :w00t: Scissor Sisters flop alert!! :puke2: glad that Florence is at number 1 , well deserved... and who cares if it's Calvin Harris or Dizzee Rascal or whoever helped her getting there, just look at Tori Amos, Everything but the Girl and many others artists who only scored a huge hit with a remix of an album track... Edited July 15, 201214 yr by Big Mistake
July 16, 201214 yr Lovely to see Bananarama back in the charts but with the low sales climate i had hoped they would have secured a higher debut. Happy to see Gary Barlow still in the top 40 singles but had hoped he would be a little higher in the album chart. Great to see Florence and the machine finally have a number 1 single, very well deserved, also nice to see Train had another top 100 single to their credit. Edited July 16, 201214 yr by Aphrodite
