Good move releasing the video on the same day the song is released. That should work in it's favor for first week sales (albeit the song is good).

Hopefully she'll keep the video short and sweet. I can't be bothered with the 10+ minute long videos this era.

And then will come the massive decrease in sales in the following weeks :kink:

Gaga is one of the best selling artists of the last decade so don't hold your breath Regina!!!! We could have another Just Dance/Poker Face/Bad Romance MONSTER hit on our hands here!!!!!!! :yahoo:

Any news on a radio premiere date yet??

I just wish she went with RedOne on this! I'm kinda stressed about what this will sound like tbh! :(

From NY Daily News:

Lady Gaga unveils mime-inspired art for 'Applause' single

Get ready for a lot of Gaga.

The singer, 27, is preparing to release "ARTPOP," her first new album since 2011's "Born This Way," and she's drumming up anticipation for fresh music.

On Monday, the pop star tweeted the artwork for the debut single, "Applause," featuring Gaga with a face covered in white paint and smeared with colorful makeup in the style of a French pantomime artist or pierrot.

Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadlin, who shot the art for "Applause," also directed the yet-to-be-unveiled music video for the song.

Gaga explained the origin of the art and the song in her trademark quixotic style.

"It's the end of the night after the show," Gaga told Women's Wear Daily. "When I look at it I see that there is a longing for the applause. I see that there is a void that is leaking onstage, that the performer is leaking, that the art is sort of becoming something else in front of your eyes. Something more human, more honest."

"The statement is that I'm not one icon," Gaga told the magazine about "ARTPOP." "I'm every icon. I'm an icon that is made out of all the colors on the palette at every time. I have no restrictions. No restrictions."

The image is the second one that Gaga has posted in the last week. The first one featured her sitting nude in a chair that looked constructed out of circuitboards.

"Applause" will debut on August 19. Gaga is also set to highlight the MTV Video Music Awards on August 25.

So it's a different music video director now or what's going on??

No no, it's been confirmed as Inez and Vinoodh for a while now i think

Those directors' names sound like they were constructed by pulling letters out of a hat
omg klumzee racist shocka

Clearly Gaga is taking K-Pop lessons by releasing the track + music video on the same day. :D

Pleased and I hope this will smash for her, although I am not a fan of the single cover. Much preferred had she gone for a more natural look instead like the promo images.

Also since when did the Gaga fans in here became insane? I swear I've never seen half of them post before, and I thought I was bad.

Ain't no one in here got no time to be insane!

16 days feels like an etirnity to hear this but a leak or radio premiere should happen during that time I hope.
Take some heavy sleeping pills, the next 16 days will fly by.
You'll be fully refreshed and awake for the single too, it's win win.
Regina this wait feels actually worse than the millenium we waited between announcement of the ARTPOP title and the announcement of Applause.
Become a fan of Sophie Ellis-Bextor and then whine to me about waiting ages for news.

Then he has no need for the sleeping pills, win win :D
