I absolutely love this! Alicia is in my top 10 artists list, loved her for so long, she never disappoints!

I applied for tickets for her at iTunes Festival.. won't get them but I can hope

This is exactly what i wanted from her as opposed to 'New Day'! I love how Alicia it feels yet it sounds so different for her at the same time.

What a boring song. I'd be very surprised if this was a major hit anywhere. I think she's looking at her first proper flop album here...

I think its going to be the opposite actually. The uk are loving the singer/songwriters at the moment. Emeli, Adele, Ed etc.. i think she's only going to continue from their successes.
Massively disappointing for an Alicia lead single, I have to say. I hope this is just a hiccup, or will grow on me, because I loved seeing her getting the recognition she so deserved last era, she really does have a beautiful voice and is a fantastic songwriter.

Her voice sounds like it's in bad shape as well here which is something I think has been coming a while, some of the live performances last time round were pretty croaky. She really needs to learn how to use it properly again or she'll lose it pretty soon.

She's posted a new song called "Not Even the King" to her Vevo channel.

A bit of a comedown from the previous two songs that we've heard ("Girl on Fire" is STILL growing on me - I love it ), but it might grow. I'd say it's probably more classic Alicia in that it's just her and a piano with no drums etc.

Wasn't impressed on the first listen but I'm really liking Girl On Fire. Her VMA performance was great.

'Girl On Fire' is a pleasant enough affair, but on the whole I'm quite disappointed by it. I thought it would grow, but I think the opposite's happening. It's really not what I wanted as the lead single of the album. The entire project so far is giving off vibes of being fairly underwhelming.

Be interesting to see how she does though. I think underperforming in the US seems likely, but she's following up a hugely successful era in the UK.

She's on Alan Carr next week apparently! :D Nice little bit of promo for her (even if it's just an interview - she's on with 1D and Jessie J who haven't got new songs to promote yet so I can't see anyone but alicia performing tbh).

Ooh, nice one! :D When is this even out in the UK? I've not heard it anywhere except from my iPod - hopefully Radio 1 pick it up soon enough, she really deserves a hit with it. STILL GROWING!!

Is this definitely the UK single? I just don't think it is strong enough, I hope they change their mind soon :(

She looks AMAZING. I'm so excited for this, hope she manages to be huge with this era again!

me too :yahoo:

She's performing "New Day" on Chatty Man this Friday  I like the song, but it seems so bizarre... And there STILL isn't a UK release date for "Girl on Fire" -_-
Nicki sounds a bit out of place in 'Girl On Fire' (the Inferno Version obviously) but from the Alicia parts it sounds pretty decent. Hoping she can produce something as good as 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' from this album though.

Hopefully that'll at least help for when 50 Cent releases his version lol.

Alicia's just uploaded the video for 'Girl On Fire' to her VEVO:

What a god awful video...I love the song but seriously what the hell was that.
