She's doing a small tour next May including Nottingham that I'd be quite interested in but I don't know anyone else who's a fan. :(

Quite disappointed with the album. It's not quite to the level of any of her past albums for me and seems to lack something that those had. I'd like to think it's just an initial disappointment and that it grows on me with more listens. But not really feeling much passed what we've heard already, so far... shame :(

I can't believe everyone on here has criticised the music video. I think it's a work of art that captures the feeling of the song perfectly. Everything - from the lighting and sunset backgrounds to the synchronised gestures with Alicia's "mum" and child. I think it's made me like the song more.

I'm not overly sold on this album so far, unfortunately :( I'm up to "Not Even the King", and the only thing that I'm loving is "New Day" (which I've had since August!) "When it's All Over" is cute, but having her baby at the end isn't exactly an original concept. I'm also pretty annoyed at them including the Nicki Minaj remix of "Girl on Fire", which is SO inferior to the original and wasn't a hit anywhere... Pretty messed up album release so far, which is such a shame after The Element of Freedom completely exceeded expectations.

Yep. Such a beautiful song! It reminds me of 'That's How Strong My Love Is' from the Element era. I hope it can somehow become a big hit. As big as 'If I Ain't Got You' will do me.

I've just heard 'Brand New Me' and it's clicked with me halfway through the first listen! :wub: I can't stop playing it, I find it so epic and emotional and honest, it's just perfect. It really needs to do well, it would be criminal if this bombed.

'Brand New Me' reminds me of 'My Kind Of Love' in a sense. I don't rate it anywhere near as high though. 'Girl On Fire' seems like the gem of the album tbh.

On the real - Alicia was hotter when she started out. Her album Songs in A Minor just had an unspeakable energy about it.

BNM is a much better song than GOF which is still very dissapointing. Hopefully this will get top 10 but I see it charting lower for some reason. Depends on the competition when its released.

Apparently she's performing 'Brand New Me' on Jonathan Ross (?) this weekend. :D Amazing promo!

She was outstanding on Jonathan Ross. I do forget just how brilliantly powerful her voice is, she does have one of the best out there, definitely.

Her voice is sounding better again after a few shaky performances recently, booked a ticket to see her live after watching this!

 

I'm not sure about that new version of "Brand New Me"...it's ok, but it's a completely different song? Sounds like something that'd be on a mixtape.

I wish she'd kept the ego line in it :(
