The same advert? The TV and adverts HAVE power :o

Yeah, you're right. :) On the week ending 15/10/2010, Tinie Tempah had Written in the Stars at #3 and Miami 2 Ibiza at #5.

While I was looking to see if Rihanna ever achieved the feat I came across this week in the archives: 18th December 2010 (the week before Christmas). LOVE that top 10, bar Heroes and maybe Poison aswell.  It's most likely because Rihanna had 3 entries that week. :P

Yeah, in that top 10 I really like The Time, Whip My Hair, What's My Name? and Like a G6. And Turn My Swag On, Game Over and Girls in the top 40.

Also, the Jay-Z week I mentioned was when Empire State of Mind was #3 and Run This Town was #5.

What do you mean specifically?

What I do remember was that Whip My Hair was leading during the week, but the BEPs managed to overtake it later on during the week thanks to their moving performance of the song on X Factor. :)

Only Girl and What's My Name? were both in the top 5 because Only Girl was held back for 2-3 months, so charted really late, and What's My Name? was released straight-away with the album, and got the music video on album release week (for the US release), so it started charting really early, hence the two charting at the same time.

I remember back then I preferred Only Girl to What's My Name?

I mean who was at 1-10 on itunes for most of the week that led to the official chart of W/E 18th December 2010

Oh gosh, I'll never remember that! Plus, there was probably a lot of moving around, since the charts were a bit faster then than they are now (in 2010 it was pretty rare to spend 10+ weeks in the top 10, only a select few songs managed it, and it was like a big landmark we'd count to, but now it seems it happen very often...). And that week the BEPs had a big climb to #1, and Nicole dropped from #1 to #10 on iTunes in the space of about 1 and a half weeks.

You should search through that thread that Ben links to every day, it goes back to 2009 I think!!

EDIT: Sorry, he already posted it.

Here you are. :P

Suprised the BEP made it considering The Time only reached #1 on the Thursday.

EDIT: Oops, already posted. :D

The X factor finalists 2010 did really shit that week on downloads yet they ended up at #7 officially. Also i've just seen that Far East Movment - Like a g6 was as high as #3 at one time.

They were so high officially because those X Factor singles sell a lot of physical copies.

If there's an X Factor charity song this year, I could potentially see it missing #1 this time. They sell less and less every year, and if it sells any less than last year then it'll struggle with getting #1 imo.

All I know the X Factor charity songs are awful. What was it last year? Can't even remember.

It's called Wishing on a star. I think it was number 1 for only 1 week but i remember that it got to #1 on itunes almost straightaway after they performed live on the x factor.

A cover of Wishing On A Star by Rose Royce, with JLS and 1D tacked on for a few lines

It was Wishing On a Star. They added extra vocals from JLS and One Direction on it aswell, so might've sold even less without them being on it.

EDIT: Beaten. :drama:

Thanks guys. I can now remember why I can't remember
No idea about last artist to have two top 3, the last one I can immediately think of is W/E 24/08/1985 when Madonna was #1 with 'Into The Groove' and #3 with 'Holiday' but it may have been done again since.

There's an inaccuracy here, 'Holiday' was #2. She actually kept her own song off #1 that week. :o

When was the last time an artist had two songs in the top 3 (or even top 5) at the same time? (Is Calvin actually credited on Spectrum or...?)

The most recent example I can think of is Whitney Houston in 1993 when 'I Will Always Love You' was #4 and 'I'm Every Woman' was #5.
