IMO The Spice Girls missed a trick by slotting 'Wanabee' in with 'Spice Up Your Life'. IMO the former should have been performed alone as it's much more iconic and well known. SUYL was too repetitive and was just full of shouting.

Nothing against the lad but I'm happy that 'No Name' by Ryan O' Shaugnessy isn't taking off in the same way it has in Ireland (although it's not difficult to know why. See Jedward :D ). Even when he performed this on BGT I thought it was such a boring song with no chorus. It just sounds like two long verses to me. :(
That Bom Bom fake version has been deleted from iTunes.

Will the live version of "One Day Like This" be combined with the original?

Yes, all live versions and remixes have their sales combined with the original version.

Quite disappointed that the Spice Girls are so low on iTunes, but they never seem to do all that well when their material resurfaces.

Olympics-related songs in the top 100 (changes since the last one of these I posted):

 [5] 4. One Day Like This - Elbow

I bet this ends up as a winner's single on X-Factor

I'm not surprised. I don't think I've ever seen a Spice Girls song in the top 1000 before. Whilst songs like Read All About It Part III and One Day Like This are nearly always in the top 1000, despite previously having low chart peaks.

Inthelittlewood at #82!!!

Wow, didn't see that one coming lol. Shame he does my nut in, it's pretty amusing seeing the Yogscast in the top 100 though. :P

16. Lawson - Taking Over Me [03-16] Ouch!

20. Ed Sheeran - Wish You Were Here

27. Cheryl - Under The Sun

30. Emeli Sande - Next To Me

35. Aiden Grimshaw - Curtain Call

45. Ryan O' Shaughnessy - No Name [This might actually go top 40 this week, if it manages to go top 20 on iTunes, His Ep is also #05 on iTunes so with Album sales so low, he might get top 10 overall?]

so for them to be selling like this is still a huge achievement

Its strange though for me because its objective but none of their back catalog screams classic and really has stayed within the conscience of the british public considering they were such a seminal moment in british pop music in the 90s - seems it was more marketing than anything else!

Does anyone know who wrote Read all about it - Emeli or Pro Green or neither?

Not difficult to read Cowell's mind.

I think it's a good bet, but I can't imagine an X Factor winner's single that strays away from the typical verse/chorus/bridge structure, so I'm not sure.

Professor Green wrote the verses, and somebody else probably wrote the chorus (usually the chorus is sampled from another song, but not in this case).

'Hallelujah' was a bit different from the usual structure too, so I guess you never know what might happen... :)

Under The Sun back  to its #25 peak, and there are about 8 songs related to the Olympics ahead of her !

Hopefully she can break into the top 20 next week then !
