'Down On Life' missing out on a top 20 place behind Ilia Darlin is a travesty. Still on point otherwise though ~

'58 BPM' has grown on me so much since the contest ended, as has 'Take Me To Church'. Will I start stanning for 'Because Of U' in a few weeks???

 

Oh and I hope 'How's That' is still to come because as much as I like 'Water Me' it doesn't even come close. EDIT: Oh it was #74. Boo.

How's That i thought was AWFUL on first listen (especially after 'Ache' (still bitter)) so it's not one i go back to tooo much. 'Water Me' has surpassed them both now though :wub:

will do! it kills me a little every time i see its semi result :( deserved so much more.

'Falling' is GREAT. Glad to see another fan!

'Emmanuel' loving too and 'Falling' is probably my favourite Varake entry to date. The whole sound + the imagary in the video, HOW it DNQd I don't know!

We Do What We Like still sounds so good, didn't get it at first listen but then i couldn't resist it <3 loving this ytd chris!

in a normal situation, windowlicker and creep would smash this BUT it's a competition and ain't got no time for cheapness here~ also pav goes indie-cheap and flops.

Still do not get 'Windowlicker' in the slightest no matter how much time i give to it (sorry leww :/). 'Creep' was an odd one in this context too.

 

But liking the Elëdan entries and the Dreamtrak track is a MONSTER obviously.

Du Tonc!! Was NOT expecting to see it so high but I'm glad someone loves it. (Though now 'Surging Memories' will be in the top ten and I'll never win.) Great to see a high placing for ASTR too. :heart:

 

Otherwise, loving 'Water Me' (I wavered in my love between semi and final, but it's firmly haunting me forever now) and 'Down on Life' (rather forgotten, I fear, of Skall's entries this year!) being so high.

I think I overplayed that Dreamtrak song a bit - I find I prefer listening to the original rather than the remix, but they are both pretty great tunes, it just hasn't held up as well as my other entries, great to see it so high though!

 

I really should've given Cut Copy more points (not that it needed them), its really quite the grower, I think it only just made my votes when I first heard it in the semi.

Ha, fortunately for you 'Surging Memories' never really got a hold on my as much as 'Darkness' did. There was a stage where I was so completely and utterly obsessed with the latter that i pretty much played nothing else for WEEKS. with you on 'Down on Life' too, feel like it's going to age an awful lot better than most of the songs above it so the only way really is up.

Up first we have the pinnacle of what has been a rather good year for the former floppy federation of fersephonia (can't stop the alliteration). tho this one DID kinda disappoint in the final as it failed to live up to top 10 aspirations. still a #1 in our HRTS tho~
