September 20, 201212 yr Not sure. Part decent part awful at the moment for me. Needs a few more listens
September 20, 201212 yr Well the only progression they'll do is go down the Ed Sheeren route, I mean their not gonna release a dance album paha.
September 20, 201212 yr This isn't the music 'they' want to make though - it's a load of uninspired rubbish. How could any artist want to rehash one of their lesser hits? I agree. I was just responding to Joseph and billy's points, that they shouldn't show any artistic progression whatsoever because shifting albums is far more important than developing as artists. It should be both really, but in One Direction's case, it needs to sell. Taking risks like that this early on in their career, and with such a large fanbase coupled with a lot of hype behind them, could de potentially dangerous. True, they would likely have to compromise a tad (although I couldn't really see them wanting to make some extremely incommercial indie record), but they should not be in the position where they're doing the same thing over and over. It didn't work for JLS, the law of diminishing returns will hit 1D just the same. The "WHY WOULD THEY DO ANYTHING THEY HAVEN'T DONE BEFORE THEY NEED TO SELL GAWD" loon mentality is exceptionally annoying to read. I can't imagine why anyone would want to box their faves into such a small niche for the entirety of their career.
September 20, 201212 yr I'm beginning to think that this won't make #1, and I thought that this was one of the most likely #1's of the year. Er..what? It went to #1 on pre-orders alone and there's so much hype behind it/them and not much competition so even if it isn't as big as WMYB in the longrun, it should at least be a lock for #1.
September 20, 201212 yr I actually really like it, and i'm not a fan of the boys (although i really enjoyed WMYB for a while). They're not the most ground-breaking artists of all time, they were put together in the mid stages of the X Factor, i didn't expect them to revolutionise pop music with a new sound. This is a safe option that will no doubt be absolutely massive. Good on them!
September 20, 201212 yr It's predictable but if it ain't broke... :P No doubt this track will be keeping all 1D fans happy as it's a formulae that's worked for them so far. With their massive success in the US, I wonder if this will get big support there too and maybe even debut at #1 on the US Billboard Top 100. Something The Wanted and especially JLS could only dream of achieving.
September 20, 201212 yr 1D are literally now the most hyped about in music it's unbelievable, look at the likes for LWWY its already over 80k
September 20, 201212 yr I say good on the boys. Yes, this may be predictable and cheesy, but they really do seem to have discovered the formula for making a bloody good pop song, and they have used it again here.
September 20, 201212 yr Having now listened to this, it was quite low quality so I couldn't tell much, it seemed pretty much like another version of What Makes You Beautiful, I did really like that though, so maybe I'll turn out liking this.
September 20, 201212 yr It does sound rather similar to some of their other stuff but I still really like it. Sure it'll still easily be a huge hit.

With their massive success in the US, I wonder if this will get big support there too and maybe even debut at #1 on the US Billboard Top 100. I expect streaming & airplay will stand in the way of that but they could debut at #1 on digital songs, I'm very interested in what the first week sales will be like. HDD are (based on preorders) predicting the album to open with around 500k which would be huge, probably the 2nd biggest opening of the year behind Taylor Swift's 'Red' (which they're saying could do around a million).
September 20, 201212 yr Like I said in the prediction thread, it's nothing special and an inferior 'One Thing'. It should please their fanbase though I would think...
September 21, 201212 yr I actually really like it, I prefer One Thing atm though, favourite by them! I could see this easily passing 150,000 opening sales tbh!
September 21, 201212 yr It's so fun and catchy! I'm such a stan for this type of music! :P (PS it's so cute in the video when they do the boating move, trynna copy "Gangnam Style"? :P)

I can't imagine why anyone would want to box their faves into such a small niche for the entirety of their career. Except it's only their second album though. Fair enough if we were on album four and they are still churning out One Thing part 20, but for their second album I think it's expected that they give fans more of what they supposedly want. I'd love to see them go down a different route don't get me wrong, but I cans ee why they've done the same.
September 21, 201212 yr It's alright. A lesser 'One Thing' as opposed to a lesser 'What Makes You Beautiful'. But it's good enough for them. I've really warmed to them actually. They make some pretty solid pop songs. This album was always going to be 'Up All Night' part 2 really, I don't see why they'd need to change their sound or start risks just yet as they're so huge in America.
September 23, 201212 yr Absolutely AWFUL! It's like a poor man's WMYB. What is really depressing though is that this garbage will top the charts here and over the pond cos of deluded teenage girls
September 23, 201212 yr The song will definatley debut at No.1 in both UK and US. Wheither it can stay at No.1 here though, I don't know.
