I basically reordered my last.fm top 30 but promoted the ones greater than the sum of their parts; the ones that felt the most "albumy". It also ended up being very 2008-onwards, eek.

Commiserations to Dananananaykroyd, The Futureheads, Sigur Rós and Animal Collective. The latter two have four equally brilliant albums but I could only include one. </3

I don't see how Adele could possibly be included in this. Everything else in music is an alternative to Adele, she's soooo mainstream.

Considered Electra Heart and Bright Lights briefly but decided they were definitely too pop. I'd say Family Jewels just makes it as alternative, some others here may be debatable but hey ho. I left out some newer albums as well (like the stunning Devotion by Jessie Ware, as it's only a week old), so only one or two from 2012.

There's loads of users that haven't submitted yet. There's no hurry to submit.
I'll do mine later, may veer over the rock side of alternative rather than the pop side but I doubt most will figure highly in the final standings anyway.
  • Author
Rock is quite welcome in this, without any boundaries - I should have stated that above.

We've got until next Saturday haven't we?

I've got a shortlist down but need to spend an afternoon actually going through and ordering it properly, that may have to wait until next week but if it is not here by the 8th then feel free to prod me/shout at me etc.
