September 14, 201212 yr I thought JLS were a biggish CD Single seller (as in could flog a few thousand)? That could be the difference between a #5 and a #6 for them. I was under the assumption they were...and it frustrates me because the majority of people that have heard this like this and this feels like the first single of theirs in a long while that's been worthy of a number 1. TBH looking at the artwork and video stills of One Direction's new one it just seems like they're rehashing the sound of 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'One Thing' again yet that will only get such big sales and hype just because it's them. Only a fool would suggest Modest/Sony weren't giving them all the attention and priority in the world at the expense of JLS. I'm beginning to see why Alexandra Burke and Rebecca Ferguson both upped sticks and left Modest now... Edited September 14, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
September 14, 201212 yr They're on different labels. I quite like this really, not as good as She Makes Me Wanna though. (love a bit of generic pop) They're still under the Sony umbrella though, and still have the same management (Modest).

This song is a better lead single than most of theirs thus far, but it's still piss-poor and attempting to rehash every "cool teenage girl" music sound of the past ten years. Of topic, but could you change your font colour please? It's really hard to read...
September 14, 201212 yr Erm not sure on first listen. Aston really is the lead now, and Oriste been given more while Marvin given less. JB given very little as always lol. Wel its not what I was expecting, so thats a good thing I guess. It is Nsync ish... Edited September 14, 201212 yr by Karma
September 15, 201212 yr 1D can release any old sh!t, either way they are going number 1 worldwide. JLS have reached the point where they need to evolve into a group that write and sing contemporary music and material that will last rather than material that will be frontloaded and drop into the recycle bin. Hearing this song a couple more times JLS do seem to try to be changing their approach but they need a big pop anthem big time.
September 15, 201212 yr JLS are like the female Saturdays, right ? "They are over. This is their make or break album. If this flops, then there won't be any other album" is said at every album releases, and even it flops or does not succeed as many people thought it would, well, they still release another album and will probably release another one again and again.

Erm... JLS have never said after each album its make or break... mainly as (unlike the Saturdays) they've had 3 fairly successful albums...

September 15, 201212 yr Erm... JLS have never said after each album its make or break... mainly as (unlike the Saturdays) they've had 3 fairly successful albums... He means people on internet forums etc saying it, not JLS themselves. And I do think he's correct in what he says actually. He wasn't even being nasty to JLS, he was basically telling people that they need to stop with the negative talk about JLS because they're not going anywhere any time soon.
September 15, 201212 yr People have hardly being saying it's the end for JLS after EVERY album, it is true though that they're surely on their way out? It's an absolute miracle The Saturdays lasted past Wordshaker to be quite honest, as much of a loon as I am. I can't this being half as successful as JLS' previous material, and I could easily see them splitting. We can't say for sure obviously, so we'll have to wait and see.

It's a "she", but you're right ! That's what I meant. ^_^
September 15, 201212 yr Oh people haven't been saying it since every album, no. I do think that sort of talk started after 'Outta This World' though, and obviously got far worse after 'Jukebox'. This is their 'On Your Radar' in the sense that virtually nothing BUT the fact that they're on the way out gets discussed. It's a "she", but you're right ! That's what I meant. ^_^ Apologies! On BuzzJack you just tend to assume that everyone is a male  Edited September 15, 201212 yr by Umi
September 15, 201212 yr I thought that they'd be riding high for a while to come yet, but it was Proud's flop that made me re-evaluate; it was for charity and a non-album single yet it flopped so badly. I'm willing to say that song just might have not been right and didn't catch on with the public but I think they'll at least be considerably less successful this era.
September 15, 201212 yr To be honest I kind of agree that they're on the way out (if they continue as they are). Jukebox as a whole + Proud being the main reason. That said, even if they ARE on the way out, I think they'll get at least a couple more albums. Frankly I'm surprised they've not been molded into Take That 2.0 yet, that seems by far the best option to give them longevity right now. Edited September 15, 201212 yr by Umi
September 18, 201212 yr The song does sound different to their usual dirge so kudos to them for trying out that, however it's sounds like they're trying to do a Justin Timberlake or something and ultimately fallen short. Unfortunately I can't say I like it.
September 20, 201212 yr Just reading that the comments for the YouTube of this were disabled last week because of racist trolling? If this is true then that's just wrong.
October 15, 201212 yr 1 week to go now. It looks as if they're performing on results show of 'The X Factor' next Sunday - look forward to that. They've released an acoustic video of the song today: R0ony9llwqU
