Kanye West ft Big Sean & Jay Z - Clique  #31

It's #1 on US iTunes!!!!!!!! :o I can't believe it.

Hopefully it can get top 75 in the UK. Mercy got about this high on iTunes too, but was released right at the end of the week, so charted at #84 or something.

What a great comparison, all singles by artists which were released far into an era as opposed to a pre-album single following on from a single which was a pretty big #1.

Flo Rida is doing perfectly fine with a post-album single, with NO promo, not much radio airplay, no music video. Stop making excuses, those songs flopped because they're awful. Clique will also flop because it's awful I guess.

Music is subjective so your arguement means nothing

I know, I was just joking anyway.

For the record, I LOVE Clique. I've had it on repeat ever since I woke up this morning.

The Killers - Runaways  to 16 :) Glad it' not free falling yet, but will probably go back down if Play Hard climbs up any further.

Do people think 'Clique' could make the Top40 if it keeps climbing and maintains its positon throughout the week?

48 Avicii & Lenny Kravitz/ Superlove Doesn't look like this will make the Top40 now will it? :( Shame it would have Lenny Kravitz's 1st UK Top40 hit since 2004.

Probably not, since it will start free-falling in a bit I think. It's now just a fanbase buy atm, and it's got no significant radio airplay to hold it up. It'll probably be out of the top 100 this time next week. :(

I can see it charting (and peaking) at something like #58 this week, unless Radio 1 playlist it.

I'm more excited about it's US success though! #1 on iTunes is unbelievable. The last time a hip hop song went #1 on iTunes in the US was like 9 months ago (Make Me Proud by Drake)!!

In regards to the post-album singles debate - I think it's pretty standard for an artist to 'flop' after having a hit. Rizzle Kicks and LMFAO are two prime examples for this. 'Mama Do the Hump' and 'Sexy and I Know It' were both post-album singles, and were both incredibly successful. Their successors, 'Traveller's Chant' and 'Sorry for Party Rocking' were lesser so. It's hard to get across my point here, but I constantly see artists following up a hit with a flop.

Flo Rida used to be an example of this (though a different case as he'd usually only have one pre-album single), but 'Wild Ones' now looks to have produced a fourth consecutive top 10 (potentially even top 5) hit; which is just incredible. I don't even think 'I Cry' requires a music video for it to attain 'hit' status, it's going to do well in clubs, it's doing well in the charts (Australia #3, Norway #1 etc.) He should perhaps just get started on the next album, or just promote US single 'Let It Roll' instead.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the first bit (and also, I prefer those two songs that flopped over the two songs that were massive (maybe that's just because they're less overplayed though )).

I think Flo Rida might be using I Cry as his next US single instead now, as it's being sent to pop radio next week (which I'm not sure if it's a good idea so soon, because Whistle is currently #1 there). But that certainly raises the odds of it getting a video now.

Oh my God, what has happened to Pink this era?

Just listened to her new single 'Try' and it is even more average than 'Blow Me'. I can't help but come to the conclusion that, because it's been 4 years since her last studio album, Pink felt pressure to produce one for this year even though inspiration has dried up. You'd think the birth of her daughter would help her create a truly great album but if it's anything like 'Blow Me' and 'Try', it's probably going to be one of her worst albums so far. :(

Ne-Yo's going to overtake Amelia at some point today. Back up to 95% at 8am this morning so will be #1 probably in the next few hours.

David Guetta Feat. Sia - She Wolf (Falling To Pieces) :right: #11

Mumford and Sons - I Will Wait  #14

David Guetta Feat. Ne-Yo & Akon - Party Hard  #16

The Killers - Runaways  #17

Can the Ne-Yo going back to #1 thing happen sooner rather than later pl0x. I actually think The Script could be #1 combined though, their top version is now up to 0.9, the second version (#48 as of last Kworb update) is on 0.0767 and the three other versions at #465, #490 and #512 could make up the gap. I think Amelia will hold onto the official #1 now though :(

Yay for Mumford & Sons up to #14 :D

 15. Play Hard (feat. Ne-Yo & Akon) - David Guetta

Now think this is pretty much certain to enter in the top 40, bizarre to see this doing almost as well as the actual single (even though it doesn't have THAT much airplay yet).

 24. Clique - Kanye West, JAY Z & Big Sean

Oh wow, this is now way higher than I'd ever have expected it to get! Maybe top 40 officially could happen but I won't hold my breath.

 35. Turn Around (feat. Ne-Yo) - Conor Maynard

Also doing far better than I expected it'd ever do already.

 38. Gangnam Style (강남스타일) - PSY

The inevitable has finally happened and I heard people talking about this at school today. How high is it gonna go? :o

The xx #43 and #71. Top version top 40 soon hopefully, it's not top 40 in the mids but maybe it could sneak in by Sunday.

 17. Rita Ora 'How We Do (Party)'

 18. The Killers 'Runaway'

At this rate, 'Runaway' could end up the lowest of the new entries; behind Amelia, Tulisa, Mumfords and Guetta x 2!

Ne-Yo is going to over-take Amelia very soon. They are both at 100% (according to Live Pop Bars).

Tulisa currently #11 combined.

EVERYONE is talking about Gangnam Style at my school, the other day in Maths everyone was singing it to annoy the teacher and literally like 5 of my friends have it as a ringtone  It's definitely one of those songs that's made a big social impact.
OPPAN TOP 40 STYLE :w00t:

 12. Tulisa - Live It Up

 13. Cheryl - Under the Sun
