2. You Bring Me Joy - Amelia Lily

So happy for her!

I'm still not convinced it's going to make #1.

If it can get to the summit on iTunes then I might reconsider but I'm just not that sure.

I can't see Amelia doing anything more than Pink tbh (and even then Blow Me had been #1 for 6 hours by this point). I'll gladly be proved wrong though!
Coldplay are PLAYING a FULL (18 songs, and a very PERFECT ONES) set tonight at the closing ceremony... and the VLV thing... I think it could do very well for them.

Maybe it would do better for the album than for every song performed if they're playing a full set (18 songs? isn't that a bit too much?)

I said it earlier in the week and i stand by it, Coldplay - Viva La Vida will be number 1 on itunes either tonight or tomorrow.
I still can't believe how well Amelia has done on i-Tunes, but for some reason at the back of my head, I don't think the track will stay there, it might just get knocked off again, if it reaches #1 on i-Tunes.

I doubt it, because it's such a well-known song. With One Day Like This, for example, it's a song that everybody sort of knows, or might have heard before, but only a few times, and they might not know the name of it. But Viva La Vida, only a few years ago, was just EVERYWHERE and unavoidable on the radio. I'm sure it'll get a big boost, but I can't see such a well-known and recent song going back to #1 (I bet I'll be wrong though as usual ).

The songs that have got biggest boosts from XF or being performed in places over the years tend to be ones which are fairly well known but were never massive hits, if they were reasonably big they didn't spend that long in the chart and are quite old. Fast Car, Singing In The Rain, Don't Stop Believing, There You'll Be, One Day Like This, Cannonball, Listen, Iris...

Well if Coldplay does well then Tulisa will flop.

My question is what will be her reaction if it does do badly knowing the bad year she's had.

Perhaps 'Fix You' by Coldplay will get a big boost then if it's performed? It wasn't a UK #1 but even though it peakd at #4, it didn't really hang around high up the chart yet has been a constant staple over the years inside the iTunes top 200. It's probably sold a good 100k at least over the last few years thanks to trickle sales.

Why are people surprised about Amelia? It was always going to outperform Misha and Marcus' singles (much more mainstream/commercial appeal). Looks like my fears of her going to #1 a few weeks ago could be coming true :(

And yeah, there's no way Viva la Vida will just shoot back up to #1. Although if it were to actually happen somehow, that would be nice  I'd certainly take VLV at number one again over Amelia or Ne-Yo!

Tulisa is flopping already lol

Yeah, that's true.

Another thing is that it usually tends to be ballads and adult-contemporary or alternative/rock songs that get the biggest boosts from that sort of thing. When dance and pop songs get performed, they don't usually see much of a boost (unless they're current hits).

I wish I could push a rocket up Under The Sun's arse into the top 10. Just two places to go... Hopefully with the Paralympics now over it will automatically go ahead of 'Harder Than You Think' into #11. Then just a small boost into top 10 (will This Morning promo really help that much?) I really hope she can do it!
When would Amelia have to get to #1 on Itunes to stand a chance of #1 Officially?
