Posted September 11, 201212 yr Confirmed to be his new single and first off the new album 'Right Place Right Time' by several people who Tweeted from a Sony autumn release showcase today. @LeytonB Tweeted me when I asked if it was Americanized and he said it's 'definitely still an Olly record/still the Olly we know'. I feel slightly worried though, I'll be honest! The 2nd single is apparently gonna be a song called 'Army of Two'. Edited October 22, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
September 11, 201212 yr Flo Rida has been massive this year enjoying his most successful era by a country mile. He didn't hinder the success of 'Bad Boys' by being a featured artist. I guess it all comes down to what the song itself sounds like. My gut instinct says this is most likely going to be a #1 hit when released - Olly's even managed to break Europe, and is on the verge of making the US Hot 100 with 'Heart Skips A Beat'. Not winning The X Factor has ultimately been the best thing that happened to Olly Murs.
September 11, 201212 yr Another collaboration I never thought would happen (one of them for me was Simple Plan and Sean Paul (and K'naan)). :o Edited September 11, 201212 yr by FM11
September 11, 201212 yr Author I dunno...I mean admittedly you are talking to the man here who was unsure how Olly and Rizzle Kicks would work on paper before we even heard 'Heart Skips...' and even putting my dislike of Flo Rida aside...FLO RIDA? I mean...it's just...I'm shocked in a 'That's odd' kind of way...I really hope this is good.
September 11, 201212 yr Blimey that's a collabration I never expected to see happen. Will be interesting to hear this. Which former X Factor act will Flo Rida do a collabration with next? First Alexandra and now Olly.
September 11, 201212 yr Author I'm gonna reserve judgement until I hear it despite my concerns but to say this has split the fanbase down the middle since the news leaked would be an underestimation. I think a lot of fans think Flo Rida has been roped in to try and break Olly in America because of what's happened with 'Heart Skips A Beat' out there and the US release of 'In Case You Didn't Know' getting pushed back, and I'm not gonna lie, my concern is that they are trying to Americanize him (which I don't want to happen) but then the Chart Show TV dude said it was still very much an Olly single and the Olly we know of. I dunno...my worst fear is that people will turn against him which I really don't wanna happen either. Edited September 11, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
September 11, 201212 yr I guess they could a wheel rotation of Flo Rida features on the live performances. Especially if the rumours about him featuring on a new version of Alexandra's song "Tonight" turns out to be true.
September 12, 201212 yr This is a sure fire hit (probable number 1) and it won't be that much of a departure from Heart skips a beat. Given that that was his biggest hit this seems like a smart move. He's done the old school reggae and retro stuff so this should add variety and help his 'cool factor' a bit. They should probably have stumped up the cash to get someone lke Flo Rida on HSAB instead of Chiddy Bang who detracted from it if anything.
September 16, 201212 yr Author Claude Kelly has just confirmed on Twitter that himself and Steve Robson (who Olly worked with on 'Please Don't Let Me Go' and 'Dance With Me Tonight') co-wrote and produced the song: @ClaudeKelly Boom! @ollyofficial new single's called TROUBLEMAKER feat Flo Rida. I cowrote it/Steve Robson produced. Its a fun one! It sounds as if Flo Rida's appearance would belie what most are expecting it to sound like! PS Claude's just Tweeted back. It's 'uptempo, not clubby/dance'. Bring it on! Edited September 16, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
September 16, 201212 yr I know Flo Rida is a pretty massive name these days, but whenever I see that he's featured on a song where he has little relevance a little part of me dies. This is a really bizarre 'collaboration.'
September 17, 201212 yr Author Olly confirming what we already knew: IjWPqgfNoPA The single's out week before the album on 18th November. It'll also serve as the next US single before the now postponed version of 'In Case You Didn't Know' (which will now also be called 'Right Place Right Time' and will include this song but have a different tracklisting to our version of the album) is released December 3rd.
September 20, 201212 yr But I don't want Flop Rida to ruin another brilliant British artist's song (like he did with "Higher" by the Saturdays).
September 21, 201212 yr Author It would appear he's shooting the video in LA tomorrow...very exciting!
September 22, 201212 yr Olly tweeted he thinks the video will be out in about 2 weeks, so we should be hearing the song VERY soon :D Even if the song/video premiere on the same day we have 2 weeks max to wait it seems!
September 22, 201212 yr Author Few pics of Olly shooting at Venice Beach yesterday. Love the new look with the braces! http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maq1bgYtd41qf7i6fo1_500.jpg http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mar9g2US0L1r0gwrso1_500.jpg

September 26, 201212 yr Author Well this is rather worrying...Flo Rida was on Daybreak this morning and he wasn't even at the video shoot this weekend, he's not even met Olly. Edited September 26, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
