Jealousy is great, definitely my favourite from a horribly weak list.

That's a good choice as a pop song. The Olly Murs and One Direction efforts were also decent. Much as I like Down With The Trumpets I wouldn't class it as a great pop song.

The lovely Richard X was there to collect the award for Will Young, who couldn't be there last night as he was on stage in Cabaret, I'm really chuffed Jealousy won. :cheer:

Here's a photo of the reasons Jealousy won.

I usually can't STAND Will Young (to me he's just dull as dishwater, never liked a single song of his) but Jealousy is fantastic, probably one of my favourites on that list behind All Fired Up, Wings and Heart Skips A Beat!

Completely with you, LiLi! 'Jealousy' is absolutely brilliant though! The only other song of his I even remotely cared about was/is 'Leave Right Now'. But this shits all over that and I'm actually pretty happy that he won.
The whole Echoes era was pretty great imo, Come On, I Just Want A Lover, Silent Valentine and Runaway were all really strong. Prior to that I'd really only particularly had time for Grace and Who Am I.
But...but...'Friday's Child' is a brilliant album. :o Oh well, at least it is in my estimates. Not my overall best album of the 00s (that would be 'Back To Black') but it ranks high up.
A much deserved win for Will, all of Echoes is brilliant and he's got loads of good songs! :cheer: Love him!
And a comment section which inevitably turned into a disaster.

Hardly a disaster. Just many comments which point out what a f***ing twat and w*n**r Peter Robinson is. I've no problem with an award for the best pop single of the year but that is what The Brits award is for. I've got no problems with that. Alt-J will never ever win that award nor really should they have any chance of it.

Peter Robinson is a self serving knob end of a level higher than even Simon Cowell. I wish he and his irrelevent £20 bullshit award would just f*** off.

It wasn't calling Peter out that I was referring to, really. I don't think the music snobbery accusations against him are really unfair at all. There were a whole bunch of comments on random other topics that caught my eye. Stuff like "I'd get behind this if the plaudits went to the producer/writer instead of the puppet fronting the song, that bigger names have probably passed on." and "even the guardian know this kind of music is bad but i would go further and say this kind of music should no longer be encouraged because if we stick with this kind of generic mass produced music its only making mediocre modern rock bands get higher praise" is what caught my eye.

TBH I can't comment fairly on anything that wankstain Robinson gets up to anymore.

He is a f***ing blight on music, far more than Cowell et al, because he strains to retain any kind of credibilitywhatsoever.

In fact our very own AlexRange has a whole deal more credibilty than Mr Robinson ever could garner (and I still don't think Alex even exists)

Make room there's a drama queen in the house. :drama:
is Come On not better than Jealousy?

Personally I don't think it's even half as good as Jealousy, I prefer Losing Myself and I Just Want A lover to Come On.

I've just been listening to Come On again and I usually dont go for that sort of thing but it's fantastic - for me, anyway.

Well I'm pleased you like it so much, everyone has a different choice. :D
