October 6, 201212 yr Absolutely loved Carolynne tonight. I worry, as I doubt the majority of the young voters are really going to go for that, but I adore her. She's a technically fantastic singer. She hits her runs and riffs in exactly the right place, and she has a lovely tone. Best vocal of the night for me. :D Ella was also good, but not as great as I was expecting. Jahmene was horrendous. The first verse was lovely, but the oversinging and the adlibbing all over the melody were completely ridiculous. On Imagine? Really? The groups were all rubbish. The boys were forgettable, apart from Rylan. However, he's just completely unlikeable. He fulfils every negative stereotype of a gay man that has ever existed, and I found myself getting really angry watching him mince his way through that. He's just vile, and embarrassing :puke2:
October 7, 201212 yr Other than Ella (who was superb as ever) and Jade, I didn't really enjoy any of them greatly. :( However, I must say that Rylan didn't deserve Gary's damning critique. I thought his performance & vocals actually put him at the top end of the contestants. He's a pretty talented guy... but I suppose a camp performance is interpreted by most people as a joke, and something that isn't to be taken seriously. It's a shame, he could really prove himself without that kind of pigeon holing. Union J were such a disappointment. They're a good looking group, and they have a great vocalist in Jaymi... but that performance was so bad. Horrendous song choice. :( Still failing to get James Arthur's appeal. Not a particularly pleasant voice, and he has awkward stage presence.
October 7, 201212 yr My ranking from last night:    01 Ella (10/10) 02 James (8.5/10) 03 Jade (8/10) 04 Lucy (8/10) 05 Melanie (8/10) 06 Carolynne (8/10) :) 07 Rylan (7.5/10) 08 Jahmene (6.5/10) 09 Kye (6.5/10) 10 MK1 (6/10) :/ 11 Union J (4/10) :puke: 12 District 3 (2/10) 13 Christopher (1/10) No surprises near the top end tbh, although I didn't quite expect James to be that good. Kye was te biggeat disappointment for me, I didn't hate it but he can do MUCH better. Perhaps more disappointing is the groups, I predict MK1 and District 3 bottom 2, terrible catergory... Was quite surprised I didn't mind Jahmene tonight (well, until the oversinging and the bloody choir, then overhype from the judges), same with Rylan I actually quite enjoyed it! Ella by far and away my highlight tonight. I can see Jade being like Rebecca Ferguson in that she'll really flourish in weeks to come, she probably won't make the final but I wouldn't be surprised to see her go further than most expect.
October 7, 201212 yr It's a bottom three right ? I think it'll be MK1, Jade Ellis :( and District 3 Nooo Sabrina, hope its not Jade :( She's way to good to be in the bottom first week, I think she's safe. I'd say..all the groups and over 25s are unsafe?
October 7, 201212 yr Nooo Sabrina, hope its not Jade :( She's way to good to be in the bottom first week, I think she's safe. I'd say..all the groups and over 25s are unsafe? Ahh I just think she might have been overshadowed a little Melanie or Carolynne unsafe maybe? Kye will get through and you'd assume Christopher will also considering the public only just voted him in
October 7, 201212 yr If it's a bottom 3 I'd guess MK1, Union J and either Melanie or Jade unfortunately. I do think Jade will survive, grow and do better than expected though.
October 7, 201212 yr District 3 and Carolynn are the current bookies favourites for Bottom 2. I think it could be these two or possibly MK1 and Union J. It's a shame Union J were so bad last night because I think they have potential, but they were given that horrendous song choice.
October 7, 201212 yr Well, that wasn't a great live show. District 3 and Union J were even more awful then I was expecting, MK1 were a little patchy in places as much as I want to like them, Christopher was just dull, uninspired and sleep-inducing, Jahmene was screechy, Lucy was just... bizarre, and Jade wasn't AS good as I was expecting her to be with that song choice. Good points: Melanie really had a powerful and good vocal, Carolynne did something interesting and just about pulled it off, I wasn't expecting what James did and I liked it, Rylan was actually fairly enjoyable and Kye and Ella were competent if nothing else. 1. Carolynne (even though it wasn't perfect) 2. Melanie 3. Kye 4. Rylan 5. Ella 6. James 7. Jade 8. MK1 9. Jahmene 10. Lucy 11. District 3 12. Christopher 13. Union J I hope Jade and MK1 can improve in coming weeks, but I want the bottom 3 out as soon as possible...
October 7, 201212 yr 11. District 3 12. Christopher 13. Union J I want the bottom 3 out as soon as possible... I can see one of the two boybands going tonight or next week. I suspect Union J will last longer than District3 despite the latter being reasonably better vocal wise last night. X Factor has proved over the years that even a good performance can still put you bottom 2 so perhaps it's not as clear cut as it appears. However, I just know Christopher will do a "Rylan" and will last enough weeks to get a place on the X Factor tour. I've seen X Factor enough times now to know how the programme works. If it wasn't all about the 2013 tour, we'd probably get rid of either Christopher or Rylan in the first week but sadly this is a weekly televised concert for amatuers, not a talent contest where the winner will become one of the most successful acts in UK chart history. :(
October 7, 201212 yr Watched this out of boredom. Shocking. Carolynne, Ella, James & MK1 were all decent enough, but none were anything amazing and the rest ranged from average to TERRIBLE (Jahmene & whatever the two boybands were called, also Rylan was a piss poor joke act) with the most unbelievably clichéd song choices I've ever seen them use (BOTH songs titled Hero, really?!). I doubt I'll watch again, no one held my attention and I can't really see anyone having long term success here. Edited October 7, 201212 yr by Hoopoe
October 7, 201212 yr Also I know that Ella is already being hailed as Nu-Queen of X Factor but her performance of 'Rule The World' really wasn't all that amazing so I'm slightly bemused by all the "OMG, wow that was so so soooo amazing like soo good" when it was just good and nothing more.[/unbiasedview]. I guess everyone judges performances in different ways. :D

I guess everyone judges performances in different ways. :D I agree. I've loved Ella up until now but I really don't think she up to much last night. I couldn't quite believe the standing ovations and exaggerated comments. It seemed overdone since most people kept saying 'she messed up but I don't care I love'. Kind of reminds me of Janet Devlin only, well, the fact Ella can actually sing and is likable. I think I'm gonna nickname her 'Adella'. Edited October 7, 201212 yr by T Boy
October 7, 201212 yr Trying to think for ages who Chris Maloney reminds me of! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3211/304843...b4dbcf989_o.gif
October 7, 201212 yr Jade was way better than Ella last night, but i have prefered Ella throughout the series (partly because Jade has been largely ignored). I really hope she is given a chance by the public, but i worry.

I always like the complete no hoper though, just for comedy :D Was gutted that the orange guy got through, was hoping Adam would have. Edited October 7, 201212 yr by Andamooka
October 7, 201212 yr District 3 - I don't like tham at all! James - Rap is better han singing Melanie - she is so good, looks like a diva, i hope she sing some comtemperary Lucy - Brave to sing er own song, i think she get some "1 dimentional" comment MK1 - i see so much potential, and i am so excited to see them. but the girl's vocal is weaker than ever, Lucis Christopher - every second of this song i , every move getting gayer and gayerto me Union J - Lucis WTF you gave them 80s song and dance they are WAY btter than Distict 3 Jade - this is not enough, i wan to see more Rylan - Nicole and him is the same type of person, i am see them on the street saying "Oh you're fabulous!" "Oh no yo're fabulous too" " Yeah we're Fabulous" "Those Bitches won't stand us!" Kye - i like it Ella - No.1 girl! the song is not too right for her, but still hands down the best potential girl Caro - i dunno how Nicko Minay is country she should sing Mr. Know It All Jahmene - i think it is oversing, the song is just not fit with this kind of singing 1. Melanie 2. Ella 3. Kye 4. Caro 5. Jade 6. Lucy 7. MK1 8. James 9. Jahmene 10. Christopher 11. District 3 12. Union J 13. Rylan
October 7, 201212 yr Here's what Digital Spy readers thought about last nights performances 01 Ella Henderson (41%) 02 Jahmene Douglas (14.4%) 03 Melanie Masson (6.5%) 04 Jade Ellis (5.4%) 05 Lucy Spraggan (5.3%) 06 James Arthur (5.2%) 07 Carolynne Poole (5.1%) 08 Kye Sones (4.9%) 09 Christopher Maloney (3%) 10 Rylan Clark (2.9%) 11 MK1 (2.7%) 12 District3 (2%) 13 Union J (1.5%) OUCH at the groups! I think a group will be going tonight, namely District3.
October 7, 201212 yr I like Ella but in no way was she that ahead of everyone else last night. Jahmene, Lucy and James were poor also. I'm so not with DS (although the groups WERE poor)
