I would think Biffy Clyro has it in the bag. Only Revolutions opened with 43k at #8 and Puzzles opened with 37k at #2. After the success of Only Revolutions, I think Opposites will open with about 60k, which will be enough to be number one if Les Miserables is going to be #2 and no doubt decreasing in sales again.

Yeah Biffy should take #1 with relative ease. Been a pretty long time coming, for a rock band with so many hit singles it's strange that they're yet to have a #1 album!

What Flux Pavillion album is this - the one with the singles from last year?

Album sales for the top 3 should be pretty good again this week, maybe we are turning the corner and the worst is past - although i personally thought the choice of al;abums for january was pretty decent this year!

An 8 track EP with all new tracks. His 3 top 75 hits "Bass Cannon", "Superbad" and "Daydreamer" are not on the album :P

Justin Bieber gone straight in at #1, that's pretty expected since I saw it top 10 on pre-orders a couple of weeks ago (although it dropped back a lot after that). Why has he only released today?

I don't think he'll be a threat to Biffy's #1 but if he is then someone is being murdered.

According to my mother he was on the Radio 2 breakfast show this morning, so he possibly performed some of the songs on there.

"According to my mother" love it, haha! Just shows how uncool Radio 2 seems to us teens! :D But thanks for your reply, it will probably be overtaken by The Courteeners or Les Miserables in a day or two.

I assume Thrift Shop's sales peak will be sometime in the next few weeks, i think there's a good chance it'll hold off Avicii (unless ICBTO ends up selling 100k+ or something, and at this rate it could be possible!)

Also wonder if Gabrielle Aplin's EP will actually be released on the 12th (a Tuesday)? Bit of a weird decision if so

Avicii might be a 100k+ contender, I think his EP is performing quite similarly to 'We'll Be Coming Back' which just about managed 100k. Think it's more likely to do around 75k though (and I'd be very surprised if he beats 'Thrift Shop').

Would mark 2 new Dutch #1s within 4 weeks if it did get there, counting Nicky as the joint lead credit since it's a 'vs.' not a 'feat.' - typical, you wait over 6 years for one then 2 come along at once.

Avicii much more into potential #1 territory now. I wouldn't mind seeing it at #1 although it's nowhere near as good as 'Levels' and 'Silhouettes'.

And yes @ Foals! I think #1 could be achievable actually, feels like there's a decent amount of hype around 'Holy Fire' and it hardly needs stratospheric sales. Would give them a very similar discography to The Courteeners - debut album in 2008, lower peaking follow-up in 2010 then their highest peak so far with album three in 2013 (making the assumption 'ANNA' will hold onto at least #3 of course).

Still agog at how 'Spanish Sahara' was never a huge, huge hit though.

I worry for Imagine Dragons and Bastille since they were propped up by their EP sales last time.

I can see Bullet For My Valentine as possibly a contender for the No1 album next week, not sure what their pre-order sales are on ITunes or anything but they are coming off two UK top 5 albums and the fanbase is definitely there

could actually enter the US chart higher than the UK one like they've done for the two previous albums

Bullet vs. Foals could be an interesting one, both will probably sell about 30k which should be enough to make up the top 2. I would normally be in the former camp but "Inhaler" shits on both the singles from "Temper Temper" so far.

The week after you have to hope Emeli Sandé can shift live albums or sales will be shocking, the week after it's Johnny Marr and Palma Violets - the latter probably more likely to make it. After that there's Bastille, Dido and Stereophonics then Bowie and Imagine Dragons so that should be alright.
