It would be lovely if it can manage to stay top 200 for a couple more weeks.

That's a surprise! Was expecting a fall straight out of the Top 200. Haven't been tracking it's iTunes progress though.

I still wish this had sold better, maybe its just me but i still adore the song and think it is among their strongest singles.

Not just you, it's probably my favourite track of 2012! Shame it performed so poor compared to expectations. :(

Ya its def one of my faves from last year too, i would have loved a full album in the style of something new as i wasnt overly keen on beautiful cause you love me.

We had 'On The Metro' too which was pure killer.

On the Metro! I actually CAN see it being a smash! I don't really know how they scrapped it. It would've been a brilliant spring single. And it's also weird that it was written by DJ Fresh / Nicola, the really weird collab!

Was it ever due to be a single? I dont remember hearing anything more than rumours on forums and fan sites!

It should have been a single, when they did the greatest hits they should have pushed and pushed for success and go out on a proper high. On the metro was excellent single material and would have done well.

These girls are notorious for leaving killer singles behind on the album, so I'm used to it by now.

 

I think radio were dubious of supporting them whatever they released after how 'Something New' performed, so I'm not sure it'd have made that much of a difference if they released it instead of 'Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me'.

Had they released on the metro and promoted it well they could have had a big hit with it but it wasn't meant to be.

Fell out of the Top 200 this week.

Something new should be quiet near to 200,000 sales now shouldn't it?

I highly doubt it.

I would imagine it's on 160k-ish at the most.

Something New is often hanging about the bottom of the pop iTunes chart for pop (around 1000). It's there on and off, most weeks, as far as I've seen. Roughly what does that mean it's selling a week? 10 copies? 3? 50? I'd love it if this could get silver certification eventually.

I would believe around 100 copies?

I have been listening to something new quiet a lot again, its def part of my top 5 favourite Girls Aloud singles.
