That IS a shock! It was a stunning performance, and I thought it would be able to reach Top 10, but not that quick!

Did people see a different performance to me ?

I only just caught it as I was coming into the room when it was on.

I thought it was 2 contestants singing at first because of how so out of tune it was.

Labrinth & Emile Sande at #85, that would be a big jump if the track goes to 1 next Sunday :o 85-1-

Wow! I didn't think Labrinth would've got #1 but it looks like it could actually happen :o What a great prediction here!

If it did go 85-1 that would beat Pixie Lott's record of jumping 73-1 :cheer:

The record within the top 100 was Rage Against The Machine's 80-1 :P But it would beat that as well anyway.

With these massive jumps to number one, do they exclude imports that were popular in the first half of the Noughties, and then jumped to number one when they were released?

This is the comprehensive list I got I think Lou Bega and Eiffel 65 were released on import first as well before getting to #1, hopefully I'll be adding Labrinth at the weekend.

Thanks for the list! :D

2003 Westlife – Mandy 200-1*

So this is an unbeatable record (unless the OCC extended the chart which can be seen by the public) even if you take away imports, as I believe it was accidently sold a week before and was then deleted until the correct week. I think it only sold 49 copies at #200 though! :P

One notable jump to #1 from imports is Evanescence's 'Bring Me To Life' which I would count as having a 64-1 jump but this wouldn't 'officially' count as a jump.
I wouldn't count the ones that were "accidently" sold or charted on imports. I also wouldn't count Spectrum and Gettin' Over because they only went to #1 thanks to a remix that wasn't released before it hit #1. So therefore Rage Against The Machine is the biggest "official" jump to #1, and Labrinth could beat that record this week :D

As far as I'm aware, when Getting Over You was #41, it was credited as David Guetta & Chris Willis, and when it was #1 it was featuring Fergie & LMFAO, so doesn't technically count anyway. Spectrum was #1 due to the Calvin Harris remix, but since it was a remix on the single's EP (which is nothing new, just none others have had a significant boost by one), I count it as a 104-1 jump.

Gettin' Over You is no different to say Alexandra Burke's 'All Night Long', the OCC may or may not change the credit but it did count Guetta's as a 41-1 jump (i.e. it wasn't marked as a new entry).

Gettin' Over You is also one of the few songs I've seen that changed titles during its chart run. That can't happen a lot.

I think there was a similar situation with Like a G6 too.

Yeah, I have noticed that before, but I wasn't sure if the OCC credited it as that at the time (i.e they could have altered it when posting the Top 40 on the archive).

Didn't Domminck the Italian Christmas Donkey jump high up the chart to no3 last december?
