November 9, 201212 yr Good Life is amazing  Love Blow and We R Who We R, but think i prefer Blow (mainly because of the video )
November 9, 201212 yr I quite liked Famous and-though I'd probably never listen to an album-I don't mind Scouting For Girls and think they get an extraordinary amount of unwarranted hate on BJ.
November 9, 201212 yr Ok we can’t accuse him of jumping on a dead bandwagon by sampling Michael Jackson (this was 2 years prior to his death) but Kanye’s follow up to “Stronger” failed to make the top 20 perhaps reflecting public perception that he was in fact rather stupid. In between the release of “Stronger” and this track he appeared at the MTV Awards and lost in all 5 categories he was nominated in prompting an outburst from the singer and suggesting that MTV were discriminatory for allowing Spears to open the show and not him as she had not had a hit in some years. MORAL OF THE STORY: DON’T BE A T**T WHEN YOU DON’T WIN THINGS..........OOOPS Sorry but all this had nothing to do with the song's (lack of) success, even if you want to think so :P
November 9, 201212 yr Sorry but all this had nothing to do with the song's (lack of) success, even if you want to think so :P I don't think these "morals" are totally serious though. :P
November 9, 201212 yr Author I don't think these "morals" are totally serious though. :P Exactly Liam, they're just little throw away thoughts really! :D
November 9, 201212 yr I love "Good Life" though it's a right time, right place kind of record. I was in quite a good time in my life when that came out. My personal Kanye Top 5, though I am no fan, would be 1. All of the Light 2. Love Lockdown 3. Good Life 4. Runaway 5. Through The Wire Blow is terrible hopefully "Die Young" will give her another #1 as that is truly amazing I agree that Scouting for Girls songs all sound pretty much the same, but I actually like them all! November 9, 201212 yr Who even cares if Good Life "flopped", it's a club classic now, and everybody loves it. That's what's really important. Famous wasn't that bad imo. It actually, to me, seemed quite different to the rest of their songs.
November 10, 201212 yr Author CRUSH ON YOU- Nero http://www.steady130.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/nero.jpg PEAK POSITION: 32 SALES: 57K FOLLOW UP TO: PROMISES From the glory of “Promises” to a cheap scooter-esque remake of a Jets hit from 1987, tis a pitiful sight indeed. Well the general public seemed to agree anyway and we were singularly unimpressed with this. It is however significantly better than the version by Aaron Carter in 1997 (the very definition of damning with faint praise?) This is a bit of headscratcher, clearly they are better than this suggests, let’s hope they get a chance to prove it again. MORAL OF THE STORY: BEING “ON TREND” AND COVERING A 1987 HIT IS A HARD TRICK TO PULL OFF YWK6dQOdri0
November 10, 201212 yr Author JUST CRUISIN- WILL SMITH http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8e/Just_Cruisin.jpg PEAK POSITION: 23 SALES: 55K FOLLOW UP TO: MEN IN BLACK A rare misfire here from Will Smith in his solo career, the only one of his 12 releases to miss the top 20 in the UK and coming straight after his biggest seller here as well. I defy most people to remember it the moment after it finishes in all honesty showing that perhaps his hits owed more to a judicial use of sample than any inherent worth of their own. MORAL OF THE STORY: DON’T FORGET A GREAT TUNE TO SAMPLE Cugj6EBvkiA
November 10, 201212 yr Author MOTOWNPHILLY- BOYZ II MEN http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c3/Motownphilly.jpg PEAK POSITION: 23 SALES: 52K FOLLOW UP TO: END OF THE ROAD Dear god, I bought this at the time! Sorry, it’s actually quite nice to see them NOT doing a ballad but this country clearly preferred their balladry and I was almost on my own on this one. Their first single in the US, initial singles bombed here until “End Of The Road” took them to the top and the UK decided that ballads it was from them. Listening now it’s a bit pants and VERY of its time but hey ho MORAL OF THE STORY: SOMETIMES JUST STICK TO WHAT THE PUBLIC EXPECTS OHzkICG47LU
November 10, 201212 yr Good Life is amazing  YES HAUS. My favourite old-school Kanye West song (I think of old-school Kanye as in before My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy! :P)! I adored Crush On You at the time, but these days it doesn't even match up to the likes of Innocence and Me And You.
November 10, 201212 yr It really pleases me to think The Saturdays are highly unlikely to be featured in this rundown. :)
November 10, 201212 yr I'll be interested to see what ends up #1 in this countdown but already I can think of one contender which truly was one of the worst possible follow ups to such a massive UK #1 hit.
November 10, 201212 yr It really pleases me to think The Saturdays are highly unlikely to be featured in this rundown. :) The only way they would have been was if 'Just Can't Get Enough' had gone to #1.
November 10, 201212 yr BLOW- KE$HA 'Blow' is far superior to 'We R Who We R', I still listen to the remix quite a lot :D
November 10, 201212 yr 'Blow' is far superior to 'We R Who We R', I still listen to the remix quite a lot :D I assume you're talking about either the B.o.B remix or the Cirkut remix. I love Crush on You. It has sold like a third of Promises to be fair. Pretty much everything Nero do is amazing. November 10, 201212 yr Ah, Scouting For Girls' 'Famous' brings back some memories. I believe it was around the same time that Diana Vickers, who'll hopefully be featured here, released 'The Boy Who Murdered Love' after the #1 'Once'.
November 10, 201212 yr I'll be interested to see what ends up #1 in this countdown but already I can think of one contender which truly was one of the worst possible follow ups to such a massive UK #1 hit. I am thinking maybe Owl City with 'Umbrella Beach' might be in with a fighting chance.
November 10, 201212 yr I assume you're talking about either the B.o.B remix or the Cirkut remix. The Circuit Remix is my favourite, but the song is amazing without it too. I've just realised that I'm Not Your Toy by La Roux  could feature here as it followed Bulletproof  I miss them guys, and really haven't stopped playing the album for the past four years :drama:
