Little Things  #1

Ride  #37 (& #76) - should definitely be top 40 :cheer:

Now this is pleasing. Having seen it low down in the 60s last night I'd already assumed it was going to bomb but things are picking up. 'Ride' is sublime and I do hope it provides the Del Rey with another top 30 hit (top 20 would be nicer but got 2 stay realistque).

Still AGOG at 'Little Things' :manson: If only Rihanna or Adele could rush release something and save the UK charts. :(

Why did Sycho not release DNA last week with only the wanted as rivals and release little things one day before the album both decisions confuse me clashing 1D and little mix confuses me

"Little Things" should've been released as a separate single last week TBH. Don't they always do that? Releasing the single a week before the album that is.

Is this One Direction's 2nd iTunes #1 then? :o

I know Gotta Be You missed out, One Thing didn't even get top 10 on iTunes, and their previous single also missed #1 on iTunes.

There is also Wishing On a Star though.

One Direction are still unlikely to get it officially though, because missing a day of sales hurts a lot, and also I think it'll peak probably tomorrow.

I'm surprised by how well it's doing though, because most of their fanbase are getting the "new" album surely?

It's their third iTunes #1. WMYB obviously got there, LWWY was there for about an hour and now Little Things.

What a good week this could end up being - 1D at #1 and Gabrielle and Little Mix top five!

[iNSERT INFO THAT JOSEPH DIDN'T POST FIRST HERE]

The top 3 are all going to do 110k each at least! Little Mix will just about nab it i reckon, gonna be a real close one! What were the last 2 songs where there was just hundreds (maybe less copies) separating them?

It's actually a clever tactic and I reckon more record companies will do this. The song is available on both versions of the album so people are cherry picking from both so the combined sales had already put them above Bruno Mars before the highest version even topped the iTunes chart.

Robbie Williams' album sold 83k last week following a big selling lead single. One Direction may get to no. 1 this week with both single and album but I doubt the album will sell over 100k. They will have plenty of new entries inside the UK Top 200 though on Sunday because a lot of people are just downloading individual tracks.

One Direction - 100%

Bruno - 98.8%

Little Mix - 93.7%

Looks like DNA will have to settle for #3. :(

Ah, I spoke too soon re: 1D not going to #1 :kink: But nonetheless we'll just see how long they stay there, I'd give them until Thursday at the latest (although their CIN performance could possibly help them out later in the week).

It depends on how much Labrinth is set to decline this week but that looks slightly generous considering they're only selling ~1.5x Labrinth and his sales fell by a fair amount last week to 85k. Although as above CIN could throw a spanner in the works later in the week anyway. Should be a very strong sales week in any case.

I'll reserve judgement until the morning to see how big a lead they build up but I can't see 1D staying ahead of Bruno on iTunes for the rest of the week, let alone snatching the #1 from him.

They will be WAY more than 100K in my opinion.

No, I meant that I'm surprised the song is selling so much. Most One Direction fans (I assume) will just get the album, so I'm surprised the individual song is selling so much.

I don't think One Direction's album will sell over 100,000. I'm not sure it's even going to #1 tbh. I agree the rest of the tracks will probably sell something about 5,000 each individually, putting them top 200 (apart from Little Things obviously which seems to be heading for over 50,000 sales this week, I guess the general public mainly heard this song from the X Factor performance).

I think "Take Me Home" will easily sell over 100k but I don't think the single will be anywhere near #1.

in this current album climate, they'd be lucky to shift 60k....

I just noticed Diamonds is out of the top 10. :( Ho Hey knocked it out, I'm waiting for this song to fully blow up in the coming weeks.

It's fine, the apocalypse is coming next month.

It's boring as f***. Sometimes it feels like she can sell literally anything. The similar styled stuff she had on Rated R was far more interesting than this.

Just wait for the numbers. They will sell at least 100k, I don't see y not. No way...
