I think Amelia Lily's was pulled because Party Over barely made top 40 (unsurprisingly, awful song) but I'm sure it was due for release after another single, not the week after! They definitely can't cancel at this stage, I just think the album will be like #28 at best which even when it's not an awful sales climate really isn't great :/

I don't get how Nasty managed top 10 but Lay Me Down is bombing so much! I mean Lay Me Down is hardly a modern classic or anything but Nasty had almost universally negative reception, clearly it was so bad that the fanbase just disintegrated, although Nasty had a bit of airplay I guess...

28? Really? I think it will do an Alesha Dixon 'Entertainer' and debut at around #80 (considering how bad Lay Me Down is doing).

Sales are really low so it's ~3k to get top 30, I think her fanbase can manage that but then again you could be right too, they don't seem to be helping Lay Me Down  I did say "at best" so I'd kinda still be surprised if it was low top 30

Oh I see what you mean. Yeah she could go top 30 because sales are very low. I'm just confused at the fact that "Nasty" managed to go top 10 and "Lay Me Down" will probably miss the top 100.

It's kind of like a 'Heartbreak on Hold' situation. Top 10 hit which makes the artist looks like they still will be successful but then a second single that comes nowhere near to matching it, yet many prefer the second single to the first.

It's because any small amount of hype/interest has evaporated by the time the second single/album release comes around after an underperforming first single.

Plus it's getting literally zero airplay or exposure.

I did really want 'Lay Me Down' to do better though. :(

This was such a flop I only found out NOW to come in here and revel in schadenfreude.

Hopefully she'll BEGONE now *.*

Such a strong album!

I'll provide a review on each track later - really doesn't deserve to flop.

My album arrived in the post today, it's a very good album and so much better than 'Young Foolish Happy' which I've rarely revisited. Highlights for me include 'Champion', 'Heart Cry' and 'Raise Up' as well as the two singles and it's a shame that this is looking likely to miss the top 40. I love this sound from Pixie and it suits her so well!

Poor brave Pixie. Her success always astounded me, she was like a bargain-bin late 90s popstar for the late 00s/early 10s and never fit with any trends whatsoever so I'm not entirely sure how she managed three #1 singles! All very Billie Piper but at least that was the 90s so you could understand why she was so big.

Boys & Girls remains her career highlight, not that I EVER thought it would be a UK #1, or indeed that she'd ever have any sort of whiff of success at all, when I sent it to BJSC in October 2008.

'Boys and Girls' has always been my favourite Pixie song too, that was the song that made me a Pixie fan as I never clicked with 'Mama Do' until I got the 'Turn It Up' album.
Her debut album was a perfect pure pop debut, I'm glad it sold close to a million copies, although again I don't actually understand HOW it managed that!
If it wasn't for LMD I would still have hope for the album charting decently. Hopefully the HMV signings and Amazon promotion can keep it top 40

Yes it was, it's still one of my favourite albums of all-time! But I agree that it's hard to understand how it has sold so much, but I'm glad it has.

This is a perfect album! Really is such a massive shame that it's going to flop. :(

09.0 Nasty

10.0 Lay Me Down

09.0 Break Up Song

10.0 Champion

08.0 Kill a Man

08.5 Ain't Got You

09.5 Heart Cry

10.0 Ocean

11.0 Raise Up

09.0 Bang

08.0 Leaving You

09.5 Cry & Smile

Lay me down is her strongest track since all about tonight but is certain to miss the top 40. The album might make top10 for a week given sales are fairly low but then plummet like a stone. Its a shame really but I guess that will be her music career pretty much over unless she starts her own label.

'Champion' is amazing.

Why was it not the first, or at least the second single?

That was what I was thinking! Lay Me Down and then Champion or Vice Versa. But I would've loved it if it was Lay Me Down feat. John Newman. It feels like a John Newman song :P

Specifically 'Love Me Again'.
