Including me.

Well I've been holding off buying it earlier in the week in case she needed extra help later - and it looks like now is the time!

She's still #1 on Amazon though, and hopefully her lead there will be enough to offset Mars's iTunes advantage...

The closest challenger is still actually Olly so she should be able to keep ahead with the saturday night ad boost!!

I just wish we *knew* the relative market shares for the main sites!

In any case, her Amazon sales don't have to completely offset iTunes - they just need to be *enough* to hold on for another 33 hours...

Suppose itll never be an exact science but one of this years biggest hits - Fun. We are Young was available at Amazon since 26th Sept 2011 and it sold around 2000 copies before its itunes release, though we dont know how and when it was selling most etc.

I noticed that Olly was still 2nd when I checked the Mids - so that'll give her a further safety margin. :)

Well, usually Dec 25th...

Think it wears off a bit mid december (12-19th) then theres another rush between 20th and xmas eve. The songs themselves are usually falling well down the itunes chart by say 6pm on xmas eve strangely enough and then itunes usually stops working on xmas day until 28th december so no-one knows whats going on then when it returns The Pogues is usually no 1000 or something.

Brenda Lee and Dean Martin look likely to out peak their previous download re-entry positions this xmas. In Martin's case itll reach a new peak as it was never given a 50/60s release in the uk, unlike Brenda Lee which charted in 1963

 65. Christmas Gets Worse Every Year (feat. Oscar Foxley) - The Other Guys

 69. F**kin' Problems (feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar) - A$AP Rocky

What's with the revival of this? Looks like it should definitely go top 100 now anyway woo.

 89. Don't Save Me - Haim

:o Surprised to see this in the top 100. This song isn't as good as 'Forever', but hopefully they'll re-release that next year if they take off a bit. They should be a shoo-in to appear on the Sound of 2013 list.

lol. That's ridiculous. EVERYBODY didn't know if she was a man or a woman because she was pretending to be a hermaphrodite at the time to get more media attention. Millions of people were asking that question at the time, they're stupid to single out Christina.

Christina was more successful at her peak than Lady Gaga could ever dream of being.

Except she obviously was not. Like, her album went Diamond because it was the record industry best days but her impact and her overall popularity were much smaller than Gaga circa Bad Romance

Who are the other guys?

ASAP Rocky is alisted now on 1 Xtra

O no Bruno could challenge Gab Aplin after all on Sunday -

This weekends talk show music performers -

Graham Norton - Bruno Mars - Locked out of Heaven

Alan Carr - Daley/Jessie J - Remember Me

Quite shocked Brunos on that could be the clincher for him? And shocked Daley got on Alan Carr - he's only really got airplay from 1 Xtra!!

I Knew You Were Trouble  #6!!

When is the video out for this - the radio airplay is peaking around next week - might prevent it from getting to no1?! Its doing incredibly considering theres no video!!

Heres what that 'The Other Guys song in the top 100 is - its a campaign to get to xmas no1 -

Christmas Number One Campaign

Work on the group's Christmas EP, entitled The Other Guys' Christmas, began on 1 October 2012 and was completed five days later.[citation needed] The album was released on 26 November, and contained 8 tracks, including an original, entitled "Christmas Gets Worse Every Year", written and arranged by friend of the group, Oscar Foxley.[30][31].

The group then revealed plans to release the original track as a single as part of a campaign to achieve the UK Christmas number one. The campaign was launched on December 5 with single made available for purchase in conjunction with a video on YouTube. As of 6 December 2012, the song had peaked at number 2 on the Amazon.com Bestsellers Chart, had amassed almost 30,000 views on YouTube,[32] and had attracted media attention on Classic FM.[33]

The A$AP Rocky song had its music video released recently, which I think boosted it. I am a bit confused about how well it's doing though, since so many other similar songs don't do this well. It's not like it's been huge in the US either and doing fairly well in the UK by default.

What's the highest a post-album song has got in the official charts without a music video? I know Someone Like You got #1, but have any other songs managed that?

Also, Lady Gaga vs. Christina, I wasn't saying Christina was bigger because of her sales. To be honest, I agree that Lady Gaga's album sales were more impressive given the sales climates at each time. I was just talking in a general sense, like popularity, cultural relevence, media coverage, etc, Christina was bigger at her peak for definite.

Gabrielle has got another boost, back up to 0.8750!! :D There was an advert during the X Factor USA on ITV2 advertising that The Power Of Love is available on iTunes, so hopefully that will have helped!

Ooh this is the firt time I've checked the chart in ages. Well doneTaylor! Such a great song. I hope she can climb even more.
Im very concerned about how far Bruno will pull away when he performs on graham Norton in a few minutes!!

I actually don't mind who is #1 but if I had to choose I'd like Bruno Mars to make it, and with Graham Norton who knows what could happen. Still think The Power Of Love will make it, Bruno has quite a gap to close to make #1.

Any sign of Lovebird in top 1000? Video should start having an impact Monday onwards I hope. It's actually such a beautiful video.

Not top 1500 :( And it's a huge pity - the song is very good. Better than 'Trouble' for me.

Currently at #794, it was around #1030 earlier if I remember correctly. I hope it can at least reach top 40 somehow! Love the song and the video
