December 5, 201212 yr The Hunger Games and The Avengers are MILES ahead of any other film released this year.
December 5, 201212 yr 'Jumper'? I assume you mean 'Looper' and not the Rachel Bilson/Hayden Christensen film? :P Edit: Oh my days! Jason you've gone up slightly in my estimations! Perks is an excellent, mainstream, indie flick. I preferred it to 'Ruby Sparks' easily. It's fighting 'Looper' as my favourite non- batman/avengers film! oh yes definitely looper
December 5, 201212 yr I've seen so many films this year, will do a proper ranking tomorrow. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Ruby Sparks, Brave and Avengers Assemble are amongst my favourites! Definately forgetting a load though...
December 6, 201212 yr Author Here's my ranking: 01. 'Batman: The Dark Knight Rises' 02. 'Avengers Assemble' 03. 'The Perk of Being A Wallflower' 04. 'Looper' 05. '21 Jump Street' 06. 'Ted' 07. 'The Cabin in the Woods' 08. 'Sinister' 09. 'Silver Linings Playbook' 10. 'American Pie: The Reunion' --- 11. 'Chronicle' 12. 'Argo' 13. 'The Muppets' 14. 'Paranormal Activity 4' 15. 'The Rise of the Guardians' 16. 'The Amazing Spider-Man' 17. 'The Watch' 18. 'Safety Not Guaranteed' 19. 'Hunger Games' 20. 'The Campaign' --- 21. 'Men In Black 3' 22. 'Premium Rush' 23. 'Ruby Sparks' 24. 'The Five-Year Engagement' 25. 'The Bourne Legacy' 26. 'Dredd' 27. 'Seeking A Friend For the End of the World' 28. 'Prometheus' 29. 'The Woman In Black' 30. 'This Means War' --- 31. 'What to Expect When You're Not Expecting' 40. 'Monster In Paris' --- 41. 'The Expendables 2' 42. 'Red Lights' 43. 'The Dictator' 44. Keith Lemon: The Film' === 'Batman' and 'Avengers' are the easy highlights! They were extraordinary for me. 'Perks' (biggest surprise for me this year) and 'Looper' were both amazing too though, I genuinely found it hard to pick which one was 3rd and which one was 4th. There is a certain charm to 'Perks' which I loved, though so it just edges 'Looper' for me. '21 Jump Street', 'Ted' & 'The Cabin in the Woods' were the greatest comedies of this year! Far better than most (if not all) comedies I saw last year. 'Sinister' shit me up, big time. I properly loved it! Really can't wait to get the chance to see that again. 'Silver Linings' was a very pleasant surprise and 'American Pie: The Reunion' was brilliant (even if it was just for pure nostalgic reasons). The cast were stronger than ever and the film was a lot stronger on the whole, I thought. --- 'Argo' was excellent too! Not a lot happens (action wise), but my God it's so tense and the story is brilliantly captivating! Ben Affleck is such a brilliant director. 'Hunger Games' was really disappointing though! I had such big expectations of this when I first saw the trailer, but a few bits of it just seemed to drag! The game scenes were fantastic (although the opening battle was very poor - all too fast and didn't really see anything), but everything else was just a let down I thought (I'm alone in thinking this, I realise :P). 'Men In Black 3' was so corny and cheesy, but I actually quite enjoyed it. It seemed to be a part of it's appeal for me. --- 'Prometheus' is the most overrated and over hyped movie of this year for me though. All style, no substance I thought. It was visually breathtaking and Michael Fassbender... WOW. But other than that, I was utterly bored throughout. I thought it was very slow and when it did get entertaining, it seemed to be over pretty quickly. Bleh. Sci-Fi, fantasy things aren't really my thing though. 'The Woman In Black' should have been so much better too. Nothing happened (bar that ONE moment - a pretty good moment too - if you've seen it, you'll know which bit I'm talking about ). '[Rec] 3' was a terrible, terrible film to an otherwise perfect, franchise! It left more questions than it did at answering questions we needed answers for. Utterly pointless. I wouldn't have been that disappointed in it had it been a standalone film, but the fact I'm supposed to associate it with the other 2 films, it's awful in comparison. Biggest disappointment of the year for me, by far. --- The last three films in my list... the less said about those, the better. I get free tickets and I felt ripped off. VOMIT. 'Safety Not Guaranteed' isn't released here for another 3 weeks, but I've seen a HD rip of it and it's very good! Very charming.
December 6, 201212 yr I need to make a list of films to watch. Definitely need to watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower..

And the less said about 49 and below, the better! Great so far, not long left.
December 6, 201212 yr 01 | The Bourne Legacy I have yet to see it, but based on this gif, I doubt it will be anything less than perfect http://i49.tinypic.com/wkkcqd.gif 02 | The Five Year Engagement Emily Blunt can do no wrong in my eyes, she is perfect. Jason Segel was amazing in this too <3 03 | Avengers Assemble The comic geek in me had a fangasm, little to nothing to fault in this. 04 | The Muppets Always loved them and this was delightfully entertaining 05 | Big Miracle Pretty sure this came out this year
December 7, 201212 yr 01. Martha Marcy May Marlene  0_k3wCsOgqk It's seriously good, and such a strong debut from the director. I urge you to check it out if you haven't already. Definitely my favourite film of the year! Technically 2011 but was released in the UK in February. 02. The Dark Knight Rises 03. Skyfall 04. 21 Jump Street 05. Prometheus I have seen barely anything else worthy that was out this year :drama: I spend my whole life watching movies, just not 'current' ones in the cinema
December 13, 201212 yr 1 Skyfall 2 Avengers Assemble 3 The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 4 The Dark Knight Rises 5 Prometheus 6 Looper 7 The Amazing Spider-Man 8 The Bourne Legacy 9 The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 10 Dark Shadows I haven't watched that many movies this year, other movies I've watched Contraband, Taken 2, The Wrath Of Titans and Rock Of Ages.
December 14, 201212 yr My top 10 in no particular order because they're different genres: The Cabin in the Woods The Avengers Safety Not Guaranteed Sleepwalk With Me The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey The Hunger Games Brave Looper Ice Age 4 Madagascar 3 B!tch Slap: Battleship was HORRIBLE and I couldn't even stand Rihanna who I like.
December 16, 201212 yr A quick look through my IMDB ratings from this year, I came up with this list, the top 6 are definitely in order, the rest probably could change around a bit. I would have did 20, but The Hobbit is out in like 9 days and this will CLEARLY be up there!! 1. Avengers 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 4. The Hunger Games 5. Brave 6. Rock Of Ages 7. The Amazing Spider-Man 8. Total Recall 9. Underworld: Awakening 10. Ted 11. Battleship 12. Silver Linings Playbook 13. The Lucky One 14. 21 Jump Street 15. This Means War 16. Resident Evil: Retribution 17. Man on a Ledge 18. Safe House 19. John Carter Well I knew The Hobbit would end up high, straight in at #3, although I reckon once I see it more it could overtake The Dark Knight Rises - 1. Avengers 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 4. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 5. The Hunger Games 6. Brave 7. Rock Of Ages 8. The Amazing Spider-Man 9. Total Recall 10. Underworld: Awakening 11. Ted 12. Battleship 13. Silver Linings Playbook 14. The Lucky One 15. 21 Jump Street 16. This Means War 17. Resident Evil: Retribution 18. Man on a Ledge 19. Safe House 20. John Carter
December 17, 201212 yr Not a great year but easy to mention the movies I hated the most (and strangely the most hyped): Batman - Dark Night Does Something Incomprehensible and Skybore
December 18, 201212 yr Moonrise Kingdom The Master Looper The only three films that impressed me this year, although I'm yet to see anything from November onwards aka films of the year.
December 21, 201212 yr Author 'Life of Pi' is visually breath taking! So, so good. But as a story/film it was just a bit boring and slow for me. But the visual effects and special effects were excellent. Really worth the 3D too!
December 27, 201212 yr Moonrise Kingdom The Master The Perks of Being a Wallflower Safety Not Guaranteed Looper The Perks of Being a Wallflower was shockingly good. Still so many left to see though - Argo, Life of Pi, Zero Dark Thirty, Silver Linings Playbook, Django Unchained etc.
