December 10, 201212 yr Impossible is beautiful! I still really love her, I think she got re-signed a couple of years ago so hopefully they're working hard developing her image and and getting the album set up. Say Hello To Goodbye is my favourite by her, but I also love Perfect Nightmare, Impossible and Stuck With Each Other. I hope Impossible can get back into the top 10! December 10, 201212 yr Shontelle already 29 on itunes... going to make a lot of money this next few weeks offxfactor!! Impossible... love the song I have a remarkable knack of forgetting some songs after just a couple of years - fortunately we have Youtube... :) OK, I've now Youtubed it, but I still don't remember it! :o Since I *know* someone's going to ask - the last sales figure I have is : 152.5k to 5/3/11. FYI, she's managed 1 chart week in 2012 at #137, on 3/11/12 (with this song). Edited December 10, 201212 yr by vidcapper
December 10, 201212 yr FYI, she's managed 1 chart week in 2012 at #137, on 3/11/12 (with this song). After being performed on the US X Factor IIRC? I'm still surprised (but glad) the winner's single didn't end up being 'Read All About It' or 'I Won't Give Up' :P 'Impossible' is an alright song. Edited December 10, 201212 yr by Bré
December 10, 201212 yr After being performed on the US X Factor IIRC? I'm surprised enough people in the UK pay attention to the US XF for it to have any noticable effect on our charts.
December 10, 201212 yr Hopefully 'Impossible' will manage to get a Top20 place next Sunday at least. By the way did Whitney/Mariah's 'When You Believe' chart after Leon Jackson won it and also didn't Miley Cyrus 'The Climb' re-enter the Top40 when Joe McElderry won. It got to #31 didn't it?
December 10, 201212 yr I'm surprised enough people in the UK pay attention to the US XF for it to have any noticable effect on our charts. X Factor US actually gets shown on UK TV, which is how I think it impacts the chart. I think it gets shown on ITV2 or something. Although after last year with Love on Top managing to chart after Beyonce performing it on a US awards show, I think it's possible in the Internet age that a song could increase in sales over a US TV appearance. After Demi Lovato performed Skyscraper on US TV last year, fake versions started charting on UK iTunes.
December 10, 201212 yr wow so glad to see that this song is getting some love again, I would say best ballad in last 5 years!
December 10, 201212 yr The video to Shontelle's version is being played on Chart Show TV as one of their most wanted. Nice to see it getting some airplay, I just hope they aren't playing it until James Arthur's video comes out.
December 10, 201212 yr I like the original version of Impossible, but I really don't want it to reach a new peak. I don't think that it deserves it for some reason.
December 10, 201212 yr I'm surprised enough people in the UK pay attention to the US XF for it to have any noticable effect on our charts. #137 is hardly noticeable  'When You Believe' didn't re-chart, the originals have only started re-charting since 2008: 2008 Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah #2, Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah #36 2009 Miley Cyrus - The Climb #31 2010 Biffy Clyro - Many Of Horror #8 2011 Damien Rice - Cannonball #19 2012 Shontelle - Impossible #?? (likely top 20) Edited December 10, 201212 yr by Bré

December 10, 201212 yr "Impossible" is easily my favourite Shontelle song. And I actually quite like James's version.
