According to the Telegraph, Eastenders was seen by 7.8m - not sure how reliable it is, I usually get the viewing figures from DigitalSpy. Here's the full Top 10:

1. Mrs Brown's Boys (BBC1, 9.30pm) - 9.4m

2= Doctor Who ( BBC1, 7.30pm) - 8.3m

2= Coronation Street ( ITV, 7.30pm) - 8.3m

4. EastEnders (BBC1, 8.30pm) - 7.8m

5. Strictly Come Dancing (BBC1, 5pm) - 7.3m

6= Call the Midwife (BBC1, 6.15pm) - 7.1m

6= Downton Abbey (ITV, 8.30 pm) - 7m

8. Toy Story 3 (BBC1, 3pm) - 6.3m

9. ITV News (ITV, 10.30pm) - 5.9m

10. Emmerdale (ITV, 6.15pm) - 5.8m

Hopefully DigitalSpy will reveal the viewing figures on repeats and +1s. There was a lot of clashing this year (not sure if this is usually the case) and the three soaps all seem to be down quite a bit.

Speaking of which, DigitalSpy have announced that Eastenders was seen by 7.78m (8.38m when combined with BBC3 repeat). Corrie was viewed by 7.91 (8.27m combined) and Emmerdale seen by 5.5m (5.75m combined).

There seems to have been a lot of clashing between the schedule of BBC and ITV, is this usually the case each Christmas? Just that the soaps appear to be significantly down.

Unbelievably, Mrs Brown's Boys had the best ratings with 9.4m. :manson: Full article here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a54057...s-with-94m.html

I don't really understand why Mrs Brown's Boys had the highest ratings. It's absolute horse-shit. :lol: Doctor Who should've beat it (it probably will come the final ratings).
Eastenders is up against Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 tonight - I'm sure I saw an advert saying it was a network premiere but surely ITV broadcasted it when the Harry Potter films were on in the summer?
Tonights episode was AMAZING!!!! THAT ENDING! Shame it was only 20 mins long! Wanted more!
It was fantastic, really loved it! Shame about Peter and Lucy, although I can see them getting back together in time. The scene where Joey left though... :cry: Him and Lauren are MEANT to be.

Welcome to Eastenders Mick Carter!

Thought I'd make an input to the thread: the plot of tonight's scene was cringey at parts. They could've at least dragged it out a few days before having the young Carter reveal himself as gay/curious.
I hope there's more of that to come, they look like a fab couple. :kink: Shirley seeing them at it tho, EEK.

I haven't read any spoilers so that kiss was a surprise.

Knew it was coming though that Johnny is gay though as soon as they had him checking out Danny in the Laundrette and then having him being clichely rubbish at Darts.

Im loving the Carters so far, they really have potential to be all great characters, its exactly what the show needed.
I've really taken to the family too! Eastenders is now actually funny, without it being forced or unnatural.

I was wondering where Kim went, then Denise filled us in that she is away with a guy she met in a kebab shop haha!

I thought Kirsty had left because I haven't seen her in weeks but then she appeared yesterday, when is she leaving?

No idea why tonight's episode was an hour long unless there's no episode on Friday because it was really underwhelming, particularly the climax of the Ronnie/Carl story. Plus the humour went back to being cheesy and forced. Not good. :(

Best episode of the year for me ... Pahaha

No seriously though I think it's getting so much better! Wasn't keen on any of the Ronnie stuff but love the Carter family! Give Dot an ASBO! ;-)

The Carter family are great although the daughter im not sure on just yet. Im useless at names but the wife i adore i love her and shirley at each others throats. I didnt expect that conclusion to the Carl and Ronnie, it makes me doubt Ronnie is staying for long though as murderers usually go within a year, they may do a Phil on it and let her away with it but in general any character who commits a murder gets their comeuppance in soaps.

That episode was fantastic, I thought! LOVED the ending to the Carl story. Such a detestable character so Ronnie shoving the boot down on his head was just fantastic! *.* Nasty shit finally got what was coming to him. Phil getting landed in it after Ronnie and Roxy have gone though, EEK. I'm loving the Carters as well. Mick driving away in the car and forcing Shirley and Linda to make up was hilare! :lol:

Really hooked on this atm. So so good. (oh and developing a slight crush on Gary Lucy :kink:)
