I'm just glad Alfie will no longer be the landlord! Why hasn't SHARON tried to get The Vic back? I miss her behind the bar.

Because she is too busy pouting and winking to care...

haha :yahoo: I am glad Shirleys Family is expanding!

Danny Dyer, ooft. Kellie Bright (I think the name rings a bell?) is playing his wife Linda too. Bit random though, Shirley's family living in the Vic. I can't imagine she's the sort of person to have a great family relationship though so it should be interesting.
I'm guessing this could lead to Shane Richie leaving the series eventually, since he is the last of the Moon family, not sure it its true dosen't Roxy leave in February along with Ronnie.
I hope Shane Richie is leaving. Alfie is one of my least favourite characters.

He can't even act. They do need to get rid of him. He's only really still there so that they have a story for both Kat and Roxy. -_-

Hmmm really? And didn't you say David Witts was a good actor a few pages ago!? Can't take these seriously at all sorry.

Yeah... maybe cause he is?

Shane's acting has been questionable as of late but David Witts' acting has always undeniably been awful. :P

But he's sooo pretty :(

I suppose it boils down to opinion at the end of the day, but looking at it from the perspective of being a young actor myself (not that I've ever been in anything - but knowing how to, etc) there are certain qualities that David has that are much more commendable than Shane's - Shane is just awful full stop.

I never knew you acted! :o

I'm guessing by "certain qualities" you mean looks? ^_^

You learn something new every day :P

There's more to that SEXY David Witts than just looks. :kink:

Calum I don't think I've ever once agreed with ANYTHING you've said about EastEnders. We are truly at opposite poles.

Shane Richie is a fine actor. I understand he may grate on people with his cheeky chappy shtick, which he clearly ad-libs beyond what's scripted, but he always delivers with really dramatic stuff. I mean just watched the Derek affair reveal episode, his acting in the flat was flawless, better than Jessie's. I think it's the way Alfie is written (bumbling idiot much of the time) which most grates on people.

Joey is very smackable. I don't even think David Witts is a bad actor (although his stupid whisper accent is dire and makes him impossible to comprehend; he should've stuck with his quite charming real-life dialect) but he's playing the role in such a smug, irritating manner. Like he's trying to emulate every acting quirk of Jake Wood and just failing massively. When he started somebody should've told him play it more like himself.

David Witts is sexy, but that's it. Nothing more. He's not a particularly spectacular actor at all... He clearly wants to be, but I just don't think he is. Maybe it's that he's playing such a boring character, and the writing doesn't do him any favours, I don't know.

I agree with Jark it's the writing that ruins Alfie (and many soap characters actually) rather than the actors themselves, and then said actors are labelled as poor forever really.

:kink: Basically the only reason I even bother watching EE is for Jay, Lauren, Joey and Kirsty, and even then it's just occasional.

Maybe I just catch Alfie when he's absolutely AWFUL, and he probably has had some shining moments, but it's whole trying to act like he actually gives a shit about Kat thing that annoys me, that's just so poorly acted - trying to work both sides of the love triangle and it just spectacularly flops (possibly down to the writing too).

David Wicks return is working, i feel the show is a but more interesting with him. I have faith in the new executive to bring the show back to its best, i know david wicks return was before his appointing but i have a good feeling about dominic.
He's so annoying. He should have stayed on Casualty where he was at least TOLERABLE.
So far David Wicks being back is good i loved the girlfriend he had in tow, i wish she was staying.

David Witts (Joey Branning)

will be leaving the show at Christmas. REALLY gutted about this (kind of ruins part of

Lauren's

character too - that's two of my favourites leaving now (

Joey, Kirsty

).
