Morning update: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=4177107

59p songs in the top 100:

 12 Ke$ha - Die Young

 26 Jay-Z & Kanye West - Ni**as In Paris

:left: 27 Willy Moon - Yeah Yeah

 49 Flo Rida - Whistle

 55 Coldplay - Paradise

 59 Ellie Goulding - Figure 8

:left: 60 Shontelle - Impossible

 66 The Killers - Mr. Brightside

 75 The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved

 77 Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight

 80 Kanye West, Jay-Z & Big Sean - Clique

 89 David Guetta feat Taped Rai - Just One Last Time

 90 House Of Pain - Jump Around

:ne: 99 Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger

Right There was utter trash. A generic carbon copy of What's My Name. :coffee:

The whole of Nicoles 1st/2nd (I'm not even sure what she's technically on, with all her pushbacks/cancellations) album was pretty bad tbh. For such a talented artist the quality of music that she produces is just not that good tbh.

DHYB was genius though, a more uptempo I Hate This Part, which I adore.

401. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop

This song has become the first hip hop song to go top 10 in the US Hot 100 since February! :o That's 10 months, probably the longest the US has gone without a hip hop song in the top 10 since the 90's.

Seriously? I thought the US Top 10 was virtually all hip-hop, all the time, with only Taylor Swift providing occasional variation... :P

Mind you, it's been a long time since I've checked the US chart for that very reason...

OK, the T10 charts for 22 & 29/12 have Flo Rida 'I Try' - surely that counts? Not to mention Nicki Minaj as a ft artist with Bieber (which doesn't really count, I suppose).

No, baby, no! :nono: Right There was/is incredible imo.

I agree about DHYB and I Hate This Part. Both are just amazeballs too.

119. Turn Around (feat. Ne-Yo)

181. Turn Around (feat. Ne-Yo)

200. Animal

You're confusing hip-hop with rapping again.

Linkin Park aren't hip-hop, for instance.

So glad that 'Die Young' has managed to hold up pretty well despite the gift-card boost for other songs! Was that rumour about her record label pulling the song from radio because of the Connecticut shootings true?

In the US, yeah!

Wow. So much hypocrisy in one post.

Are you really that ignorant to think that a genre of music that you dislike always clogs up the charts?

That's only in the USA.

'Die Young' is probably getting its own boost from gift cards, despite how recent it is.

I hadn't heard it on the radio here since so I just assumed it was a worldwide thing!

I Cry, much like most of what makes the US top 10 now, is a euro-pop song (along with most of Flo Rida's recent songs). The instrumental was made by Bingo Players.

There was an all-black top 10 in 2002, and there was a top 10 in 2005 that included 4 songs from 50 Cent! But that was all a long time ago. In the past 5 years there's not been much hip hop making the US top 10. Basically as soon as Timbaland appeared they started disappearing.

You would've liked the US charts, it's been full of Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Britney Spears the past few years! But they seem to be struggling more than usual recently now that streaming is a factor.

I Hate This Part is brilliant! I like pretty much everything by the PCD except maybe Hush Hush Hush Hush. That song was a bit of a disaster really.

Glad to see Conor already top 200. But most of the rest of his album is better than Animal imo.

I deliberately didn't even *use* the word 'rap' in my post!

Why LP, specifically?

Apparently my smiley was invisible again.

So what you're saying is : if Taylor Swift made a rock song, she'd no longer be a country/pop artist?

[Just kidding, so hopefully the 'usual suspects' won't leap at my throat like they usually do]

The difference is almost Taylor Swift's entire discography consists of country-pop songs. So one rock song wouldn't make much of a difference really. But 90% of Flo Rida's discography is dance music, the same as what David Guetta does.

Could it be just the unusual accent that a lot of rappers use that puts me off then (I think it's called ebonics, but I stand to be corrected here)?

I don't know. I can never tell what Flo Rida is saying anyway, he needs to rap so fast to keep up with his 130 bpm songs. His voice may as well just be another synth lol.
