I don't know. I can never tell what Flo Rida is saying anyway, he needs to rap so fast to keep up with his 130 bpm songs. His voice may as well just be another synth lol.

His niche is 'club-friendly' tracks, hence the BPM and the quick flow. Saying that, the radio-friendly feature on "Troublemaker" is considerably slow for Flo Rida; and I think that's why his feature works there.

Yet to hear his fifth single "Let It Roll", wonder if it can score him a fifth consecutive T5 hit; or climb as quickly as "I Cry" did into the T40.

Apparently my smiley was invisible again.

That didn't seem like sarcasm to me. It seemed like something that you would genuinely say. I also love how you've put a link in your signature because of me. Please don't patronize me.

But how would you even *know* what I genuinely mean?

Then please don't misinterpret *me*.

And anyway I can't even tell who you are, from just 7 stars.

Yes I can't see how it is directed at you/ solely for your benefit. Let's not try to pick fights unecessarily please :D

It's the internet. Everything is misinterpreted. Say something that can be easily interpreted as a joke (because you always go on about urban clogging up the charts so it seemed like you were being serious to me) and then we won't have a problem.

And Gezza, please explain how I am trying to cause a fight. It is very clear that my original post towards him made him put that link in my signature.

When I read Vidcapper's signature you weren't actually the first person I thought of! (I'll keep my thoughts on that one private) but Vidcapper has already said it wasn't aimed at you in any eventuality!? Plus smiley etc.....

OK. I'm sorry to both of you. I just get angry when I see any kind of musical ignorance in any post.

In any case, a forum where everyone always agreed with each other would soon become very boring... :)

I have this horrible feeling that 'The Power of Love' is going to be one of those incredibly annoying songs that will stay in the top 40 for what would seem like an absolute age. I dread to think how stale the charts will be around March and April where songs from around Christmas time traditionally don't seem to go away.

At the beginning of each year you tend to get a lot of songs that get loads of sales and stay in the top 10 for ages simply because there's nothing else out. Like Champion, Yeah 3x, Wild Ones, Starships, etc. If those songs were out in the X Factor period they would've been completely over-shadowed by the massive songs released at the end of the year (usually lead singles of albums to be released before Christmas).

What I meant was songs from the past few months ('Troublemaker', 'Diamonds', 'Gangname Style', 'The Power of Love') will probably still be top 40 in 3 months time and listening to them on the radio will be absolutely boring because we'd be listening to them for the millionth time. Previous examples of songs that don't die until long after the New Year include 'Sexy and I Know It', 'Wherever You Will Go' and 'Moves Like Jagger'.

It's nearly time for Gay Gordon's yearly foray into the iTunes top 40! Not top 1,500 yet though.

Yes. It's so quiet in February/March time that the chart stays pretty much static. Even songs that would normally be falling under normal circumstances just seem to hang around, because there's nothing else out. I think some songs owe how big they are due to the fact that they were in the charts at that time.

BITCH PLEASE. We ALL know it's about this version...

:drink:

The Power of Love will probably fall quite quickley out of the charts in my opinion because of its association with the xmas period.

I always think the start of the year is quite exciting imo, and if you look at the release dates alot of indie bands are taking the opportunity to release their albums, then next month we have the brit awards!!

All the Brit awards will do for the chart is to give a boost to those old songs which most of us hope would have gone away yonks ago

This is what I'm expecting too, 'Your Song' didn't exactly hang around for long once Christmas finished and TPOL hasn't been as big as that. But I don't know, the release schedule does look really quiet right now.

I prefer Your Song but I really don't think that it had sold more copies at this stage than The Power Of Love has done so far.

*goes to vidcapper to plead for forgiveness and ask him*

It had a much better chart run, so I'm assuming it had.
