Ok... is the album charting at all?

What? It's top5 in the midweeks, and seems to do quite well as well worldwide.

For me, the album isn't as amazing as "Safe trip home", but this one of my fav albums ever so it was never going to be easy to top that.

She was on This Morning yesterday and they said her album was currently #1 in 11 countries, that may be midweek information though, but still good on her. Most people aren't even aware she's made a comeback
I do like the album, especially Blackbird, No Freedom and Go Dreaming. However its not as deep and emotional for me as Safe Trip Home, I'm probably in a minority but I loved that album to no end.

In terms of single-wise, that would be my preference:

1. Let us move on

2. Blackbird

3. End of night

4. Girl who got away

The first five tracks of the album is so cohesive and I love Happy New Year and Love to Blame.

# 5 with what... 25k sold??? I don´t expect much more then that. MAJOR FLOP!!! She´s losing so many markets where she used to be massive... I remember No Angel and Life For Rent were both smash albums in Australia, multi-platinum certification, lots of weeks at #1... GWGA debuts at #12 there and probably will fall out of the Top 40 in its second week. This is the result of deliberately not caring.

I think it's fine, she doesn't care about being a blockbuster seller any more and she seems content with her life.

She's probably also more than aware it's nigh on impossible to claw back such a status a decade after you were considered majorly successful and relevant.

I heard that her album went to No.1 in some 11 countries? That's not too bad for someone who's been away for 5 years...

She sold 32k.

Are you actually a fan? You just seem to rant about her.

And no, she doesn't care and nor do I. I love the album and she's too rich to be at risk of never being able to record again.

So why are you so bothered?

The album i believe will perform quiet similar to glassheart by Leona Lewis.

The fact she got top 5 after so long in the wilderness is pretty impressive. Her core fanbase has an album they (and Dido herself) can be proud of and which will no doubt

translate well live. Thats all she wants I imagine. Much like my Queen Alanis.

I think Top 5 with decent sales is quite impressive considering the lead single didnt trouble the Top 50 and the fact she has been away for years - She was never going to be able to maintain the level of success she had with her first 2 albums so the fact that this one sold over 30k in the opening week is a good start tbh.
I'm really liking "end of night". I haven't had time to download it yet, so listening to it off Youtube where some generous soul uploaded the entire album. The songs are kind of shuffled so going in random order, but so far it sounds like safe Dido, yet welcome all the same. She's got such a lovely voice!

Is everyone enjoying the album?

After a couple of listens it's becoming one of my favourite albums of 2013. I just love hearing her voice though. Loving 'Go Dreaming' <3

Same

I think she is my favourite voice in music.

Dido debuts at #3 in France with the album ! :cheer:

Plus she's doing some promotion there this week. :)

This album is nothing short of perfect  she always manages to outdo herself in terms of her albums. I adored Safe Trip Home and I adore this even more.

End of Night and Blackbird need to be singles.

For me it's better than 'No Angel' and 'Life for Rent' but in no way better than 'Safe Trip Home'. Not even close.

'Let Us Move On' is still the obvious standout, unfortunately.
