The Roc connects on this new Alexis Jordan record that kinda came out of no where. After doing well with her last hit ‘Happiness’, Jordan is onto her next album and this will serve as the lead single. Cole with two dope verses.

Written by Sia, sample by Bingo Players - Rattle.

I knew today would be a good day! :D

I lack objectivity here, but this is so fiery, catchy and amazing. The sample being a popular one at the moment is a good choice too.

New Alexis music.

Today Alexis Jordan premiered the lead single 'Acid Rain' from her upcoming second album! The song is written by Sia, produced by Stargate and features J Cole. It also includes a sample of 'Rattle' by Bingo Players!

A mini-review by Rap-Up can be seen here:

Alexis Jordan topped the dance charts in the U.S. and overseas with her debut single “Happiness.” Following the release of her 2011 album, the StarRoc artist (a collaboration between Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and hitmakers Stargate) pulls in some heavy-hitters for the first single from her sophomore album.

The 20-year-old songstress teams with her Roc Nation labelmate J. Cole on “Acid Rain,” produced by Stargate and written by Sia, the team behind Rihanna’s No. 1 single “Diamonds.” The club anthem, which premiered on Norwegian website 730.no, features a pulsing electro rhythm and two fiery verses from Cole. Report to the dance floor with Alexis’ triumphant tune.

I actually love that sort of fast, clear rapping. Reminding me a bit of Ice Cube on 'You Can Do It' there, and I love that too.

Playing this over and over - in a perfect loon world this'd be a Good Feeling to 'Get Up (Rattle)'s Levels but I'll just hope for any form of success.

There is a thread in the Dance forum but it's surely gonna get more attention here as she was here last time (and I'm not closing any Alexis threads on my watch) so I'll let this lie.

She hasn't disappointed me, this is amazing - and the written by Sia bit + the sample is surely going to help it.

Sounds fantastic on first listen!!! :D

Oh I did a search in the pop forum just in case there was an old "new single" topic and there wasn't. I didn't even think to look in the dance forum, but like you say Alexis topics have been in here previously!

Hearing this will always remind me of that awful Far East Movement song. :(

But on first listen, it's really good and it's really euphoric! :D It's already my second favourite from her after Happiness, but that won't be beaten because Happiness is life-defining.

I must say, I am astonished she didn't get dropped.

The song is really unoriginal and feels cheap given it has swiped the instrumental of the Bingo Players/Far East Movement track but it's obviously better than that.

As there are two threads, I'll copy my response in the other one.

The sample sounds so so bizzare shoe-horned into the song! The non-Rattle parts sound really good, but I'm a bit unsure with the sampled parts, sounds like two different songs!
It's good on first listen, and it sounds like a grower, but having another Rattle based song out so soon after Get Up feels odd to be honest. That's a nitpick though, as independently it's better than Get Up and it's a great song.
I have played it about 15 times already and it is SO much of a grower. Rattle has such a catchy base it could be used for a lot of great songs (and lets be honest, the Far East Movement stuff isn't great, I've only ever listened to Get Up (Rattle) for the instrumental).
Dear leona, alexia Jordan released songs like happiness and good girl and now acid rain you needed this songs
