Wow, that is quite the sight to behold……regardless, I was in the mood for a fun ‘month off’ kinda entry, albeit one that was certain to alienate literally everyone by leaning into my most niche of fixations. You could say it was an attempt at the nil pointer, although I figured sending this banger 80s remix would’ve made that considerably more difficult (there’s a 30 second original version I could’ve just gone for instead lmao), and I was most certainly NOT meticulously planning and building up to this moment for several months :3

This has never been done before but the apparently direct and impactful instrumentation has been on board here. I think it will grow a bit more after a few more listens. It's totally unique and I'm glad this has been sent! Totally undeserved DNQ imo :(

The japanese electronic duo of producer Yasutaka Nakata and singer Toshiko Koshijima (together as CAPSULE) took BJSC by storm last month with this track from 2008, in true Trifoski fashion defying a lack of hype or buzzjack-friendly sound to claim 6th place (it happened before with Prom Night, Electrify, 50/50 etc. just to jog your memory)

Cojum Dip are the latest in a lineage of oddball Trifoski entries, an avant garde, genre-fusing band adorned in capes and mexican wrestling masks. Originally released in 2014, Moon Waltz recently became a huge viral hit in Trifoski, topping the national singles chart

 

I won't give too much away about the song, but suffice to say it is enthralling, life-altering, and its appeal will fly over EVERYONE'S heads (in a similar fashion to Bo En's "My Time" probably)

This one's been a long time coming, the first BJSC appearance for the one and only Tally Hall and their brand of quirky indie pop. Plus with Halloween around the corner I felt this was the perfect time to send this particular track about scary monsters and freaky creatures!!! (nah jk it's actually a song about going through puberty and adolescence) (fun fact - Cojum Dip lead singer Boa Karaca was a regular touring member for this band x)

Trifoski are proud to present this masterpiece in musicality and songwriting from artiste, comedian and trans icon Nat Puff aka Left At London to the BJSC masses - with the full knowledge that a song with this much quality and emotional power is destined to remain in the semi finals.

 

I hope this is just your usual pessimism because this is easily one of the best entries of the year / Trifoski's back catalogue and I do not accept it DNQing x

The inevitable moment has finally arrived - the debut of musician, animator, video editor and internet icon Bill Wurtz in BJSC!!! "Here Comes the Sun" was his first release after a near 2-year hiatus, brandishing a flashy new 3D modeling animation style. The song is a nice encapsulation of Bill's sophisticated but playful jazzy pop sound, along with a set of quietly optimistic lyrics.

 

Bringing a track with a unique sound to BJSC, with so many wonderful musical intricacies the voting masses won't pick up on - it is most fitting that Trifoski's milestone 100th entry is one that will only appeal to ourselves. Happy anniversary! :cheer:

It's recycling time as Trifoski's 10th birthday approaches - what better way to celebrate than with another surefire non-qualifier??

 

Jack Stauber is known for his quirky hypnagogic pop sound on albums such as Pop Food and HiLo (plus the Micropop releases) along with a flexible vocal range of yelpy falsettos and deep lows, as of course his series of surreal computer animated + stop motion videos with a VHS aesthetic. Trifoski's latest entry "Buttercup" has seen viral success over the last few years, accumulating over 372 million streams - an easy chance to YET AGAIN prove how out of touch with reality and good music the voters are :smoke: although my main motive is to hopefully manifest a proper Jack Stauber comeback this year (that one may be a little amibitious but you never know...)
