Tbh, I doubt The Saturdays & Little Mix will both succeed in America, it's worrying how high Little Mix are on iTunes without any promotion/reality show/airplay.

No but they've had lots of advertisements on places like spotify and itunes
Spotify and Itunes? No, they had a small link on the homepage of itunes, but spotify is just as famous in the usa as itunes and they got no promotion at all on their! :o
Sigh. :( While Little Mix and The Sats are two completely different groups, it's still a bit annoying having them releasing in America at the same time. Little Mix have the advantage with being X-Factor winners, related to One Direction and have a good label behind them. It's just going to create so much comparisons in America and damage The Sats image if LM have more success than them in a quicker time frame.
Little Mix had the xFactor advantage, but The Sats had the reality show advantage.

There's a difference between winning X-Factor (the first of the category to do so) and having Simon Cowell's backing and a reality show that so far has underperformed.

Ugh I wish The Saturdays would have come to North America last year. I hope the fans don't turn this into a girl band rivalry like it has for those other 2 boy bands. Little Mix does have the advantage of 1D fans supporting them. I'm sorry if this offends anyone. They are very talented girls but so are The Saturdays. All the Sats need is build a fan base & they can be successful over here. They might just have to work their asses off for it.

Yeah, so basically, Little Mix are seen as the girls who won a TALENT show and The Saturdays are seen as reality TV-stars (who happen to sing really well). At the end of the day, the US probably see the Sats as some british Kardashians, while they see Little Mix as singers, as the female One Direction.

And we all know this early success of Little Mix in America is primarily due to 1D's fanbase. Come on.

I'm not really a fan of Little Mix, but I know Wings is a PERFECT debut Us single as Higher would have been the perfect debut US single.

I don't know I've always had the impression that Wings would do fantastic and I think The Saturdays really should have still been in the US promoting, because no doubt Little Mix will be promoting in the US as soon as their tour has finished. No doubt all they need to do is confirm fourth single, promote fourth single in the Uk (Britians Got Talent).

The Saturdays will have two children and Rochelle will be pregnant, I sometimes get the impression that they've never been dedicated enough. I mean each single campaign is quite awfully handled, even Missing You as they promoted before the release and not really during/after.

I always knew Little Mix would outperform The Saturdays in the US, however I expected better airplay for The Sats and a better peak. Little Mix with no airplay, no promotion should at least beat The Saturdays Digital sales peak. Currently #65 on iTunes.

Can't believe no one is talking about it. Wings from Little Mix is somewhere in the top 100 on iTunes. Isn't that the moment where everyone's going mad and say "DA SA-TURD-AYS R OVAAAH!!!11!! LABEL IS GON' DROP'EM !11!!!!! FLOP, FLOP, FLOP, FLOP, FLOP !!!11!! WONT EVAH BREAK AMERICA!!!1" ?
It wasn't mentioned because this isn't a Little Mix vs. The Saturdays thread, believe it or not... Us mixers are not as tedious as most people like to perceive us, especially Saturdays fans. So stop trying to cause trouble. You didn't need to comment on it really...

So the whole VEVO thing, wasn't a big deal after all? LOL.

The difference is PURELY down to the fact Little Mix's label in America wasted NO TIME in getting adverts for them and aren't relying on just the one channel/show to help them. I doubt the X Factor connection really translates over to America unless Simon Cowell makes sure it's known. Like Leona had crap loads of positive press ("next Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston" and got a massive following etc.. hence 'Bleeding Love' becoming the massive hit it was. One Direction had a very similar starting point press and stuff bigging them up to be "as big as The Beatles"/major hype and all that. But Little Mix haven't really had anything like that over there from what I'm aware of. (It could have easily happened though "as big as The Spice Girls" etc..) But it hasn't happened... YET.

So they're just going off buzz for now... Oh and OD fans seem to dislike LM, so I doubt it's them! (The amount of comments I've seen from Directioners calling Perrie "ugly" and things like "Omg. How can Zayn fancy her??!" etc.. just for dating Zayn... My Lord! - There are obviously some who like both, not denying that)

Little Mix's label obviously know how to launch their artists better it would seem. They waste no time in getting to the point, I guess. The Saturdays' label seemed to take a little longer to get them going. It's all down to the label & the song, nothing else at the moment. I've always said 'Wings' would be a hit in the US and whilst 'What About Us' is a very good The Saturdays song, it's not really a song that I'd personally use to launch them in America with.

EDIT:

The video of the Sean Paul version... (watching now - but he doesn't seem to be in the start...)

EDIT2: He's in the video for his main part though! We get extra choreography too! :D

Oh come on. I know you wouldn't have, but someone would have said it. I'm not even saying it would have been a Mixer, it could totally be someone from Team Sats, because it looks like it's 70% negativity and 30% positivity here. I'm not even talking about a war between the two girlgroups. I'm talking about how fast people are to rule out The Saturdays once someone does something better than them. And you'll see that I was right.

I don't think it's the label, I think it's their management. The girls seem to have kept Peter as their only manager in the US. He might be good for the UK, but he has most likely no contacts or power in the US, so I don't know why they brought him. I'm sure Little Mix have an american team just for them, or at least a second manager to help their main one. Although I think the adverts on iTunes are down to labels, yes. Not sure of that, but that's not the point.

And Directioners love Perrie, don't get fooled by jealous people. She is the fan favorite.

On another note, I like the new scenes of the routine and...For god sake, Frankie. Why are you so hot?! She's GORGEOUS. Mollie and Frankie nailed those dancing scenes.

guys, the saturdays wont get dropped. Because Little Mix are from a different label, they have simon cowell and zayne who can promote them. Plus the saturdays are going back over soonish so they will do something then :)

Oh, I know, it was sarcasm. :P It's just that people are so quick to rule them out. -_-

Yup, Little Mix had a better start and at the end of the year, they will probably have the most success out of the two. But wasn't it already clear? I thought we all agreed that The Saturdays would be The Wanted and Little Mix would One Direction in this girlband battle.

I'm pretty sure The Saturdays can find their way to some sort of success in America if the people behind them play their cards right. ;)

Amen.

I always feel this with every single they release, they never get the right promotion, and when they do it's never at the right time. The girls are dedicated, but it's their management that isn't.

Would love to be proven wrong with this single though.

I think the girls WANT the success but either aren't aware/can't be bothered with the effort it takes. I mean could you imagine any of them saying to the label "No, I don't want to go back to the UK, I'm staying here to do radio tours"? They don't have the drive that other artists do. They just seem to do whatever the label tell them to do and hope that it's enough.

I do agree, but for example Cher Lloyd & Olly Murs don't have a child like Una, or are expecting like Rochelle. Neither are they married, I do feel like the only person out of the group who really wants it to work in the US is Mollie, just from the way she comes across in the show. Not saying the other girls don't want it to work, but Mollie seems like she wants it more than the rest of them.

I hope they do get a show like Ellen or even Idol as a promotional slot. I remember The Wanted's first US performance was Ellen, and they also got an appearence on Idol. Fingers crossed. :)

I'm a Little Mix fan and I'm not bothered or bitter about if they do well or not in America. I just want them to make good music.

Rochelle's pregnancy might probably have killed any chance of a US career.

It's also quite hard to market a girlband where two members are married mothers.

Why even bother posting that? Pointless and it's clear you're trying to troll
