I'm sure it will go top three at least but I'm more concerned about it's performance after release week. This NEEDS to stick around and have at least three weeks in the top ten.

They can't do anything about it tho... How should the song stay three weeks in the top ten if it gets ditched off from pretty much all the radio playlists right after the first week? :( When you're not playlisted anymore on Radio 1 and Capital has stopped playing your song because they actually have other songs to play, your airplay is pretty much dire. -_-

So if it actually gets decent airplay (because even so far, it's not decent yet), it might stick around longer than usual. But if it's the same bullshit where it stops right after the first week, it's gonna be the same old thing. :( It really is a shame because it's not even about the song itself. -_-

You can pretty much forget Comic Relief. It's not just about the girls, those TV shows must also want the girls to get on their show. Sometimes, they got bigger names waiting and prefer to take them in instead of The Saturdays. So I would rule out Dancing On Ice too. I think if their teams do the right things, they can book Graham. Otherwise, it's gonna be Daybreak and This Morning and late show on Saturday or Sunday.

I wouldn't rule Comic Relief out in the slightest? They've performed 2/3 years of the last Children In Need. I think they will be on Comic Relief and hopefully get Graham Norton/ Ant & Dec Saturday Night takeaway, I would be quite satisfied.

That sounds like decent promo.

So it's not gonna happen.

Kidding...well, I don't even know if I am. I do wish you're right, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get the same amount of airplay and promo as 30 Days.

Didn't Rochelle and Ness fly out to Africa(?) to do some work and filming for Comic Relief a few months ago?

Yet its already doing a lot better than 30 days did airplay - wise

Also they did the frigging Comic Relief single a few years ago. It's not like their suddenly gonna cut all ties with The Saturdays. Actually they need to get performances on both Comic Relief night and Let's Dance For Comic Relief if they can.

I'd like to think they could get on Dancing On Ice, but that's unlikely. Elsewhere, Graham Norton is doing a Comic Relief special in March (the last in series is like this week). Jonathon Ross would be great and Alan Carr (if that's on atm?) There is also Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway which is back this week.

Then, they can appear on panel shows like Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and then daytime shows (This Morning, Daybreak, BBC Breakfast, Alan Titchmarsh Show, Sunday Brunch)

They've got plenty of opportunities to fight for these promo slots and there management need to get on it. If they want #1 exposure they need to be appearing on most of these shows before, during and after release week. Plus they need to do a radio tour to continue drumming up interest of playing their song!

Lets just agree that these girls are sooooo frustrating!

Indeed, they need to get off their lazy asses and work for success if they want it! (As much as I love them that it the truth!)

Well, no, that's the problem...

30 Days : 100-70-36-33-28-19-73-X

What About Us : 109 - 75 -

Hopefully, since they have been added to Radio 1 C-Playlist, they will jump into the top 40 like they did with 30 Days. Sadly with their airplay right now, I don't see them doing better than a #19 peak or so again on the airplay charts.

So yeah, these girls are frustrating. Hopefully, they will do a second radio tour because that is so important.

It's a bit awkward because I imagine radio aren't playing them because they aren't "huge" and there's no big demand for them, yet at the same time the fact radio aren't behind them is probably the main reason WHY they've been underperforming so much.

The Tv Airplay has been much, much bigger though so that should help them. The airplay is actually a lot better for What About Us in general and there's a lot more hype regarding it!
I actually have a really good feeling about What About Us. The radio airplay probs wont kick in till a few weeks, on the week before and release week it will improve so much! The song has received the most views they have ever had before its released in the UK which is a good sign. I didn't feel it with 30 days but I have the same gut feeling I had for All Fired Up to do well so Fingers crossed! Also Team Sats seem to be really behind the single

I really don't understand how the airplay for What About Us is lower at this stage than 30 days?

30 days was only played by Capital FM twice and had VERY little Radio 1 backing.

I remember seeing the radio plays on CompareMyRadio and the maximum plays they achieved was 230ish.

What About Us has already succeeded this....

Could it be down to the Airplay chart not taking into account both versions with Sean Paul and Without?

I'm really baffled by it - The only thing is CompareMyRadio isn't tracking data properly Capital play What About Us at least 2/3 times a day, yet the data on CompareMyRadio has been static for the last week (Was previously increasing)..

Maybe there's a tracking problem with Capital and it's not included in the data?

Something is definitely not right?

I guess we'll see when the airplay charts come in this week. Actually their TV airplay has been fantastic, today alone I've seen What About Us no fewer than 10 times when flicking through about an hour ago and earlier on a couple of times. I think they could potentially reach #1 on TV airplay for the first time! :D
Wasn't there less of a gap between the 30 Days premiere and release (and subsequent plummet from iTunes and radio) and What About Us premiere and it's release?
I think they're benefitting greatly on TV by having two versions of the song/video out. I was watching The Box yesterday and the Sean Paul version was on this freshest new music thing and then less than 30 minutes later, they played The Saturdays only version! So they are getting heavy rotation.

Haven't they started charting earlier than they did for the release of '30 Days' though? There's defibitely a hell of a lot more (positive) buzz surrounding this than there ever was for '30 Days'. You know a song is gonna do well when it appeals to people who aren't general fans of said artist and with this, I've seen a fair few comments on ny facebook feed with something along the lines of "I hate The Saturdays but OMG! This is so good." Etc..

Oh don't get me wrong, guys, I absolutely love What About Us and it's definitely in my top 5 singles (I really think it's one hell of a good song), but I was just saying that the radio airplay wasn't better than 30 Days. The overall interrest in them and hype is much much bigger than it was with 30 Days, that I agree 100% with you!

My friends who usually don't like The Saturdays (sometimes I even wonder why I'm still friends with them) also said What About Us was really great. It's always nice to hear!

Tbf, What About us was gaining Uk airplay before 2013. The airplay on both accounts is much stronger and there's a much bigger buzz for What About Us! iTunes Pre-Orders is also showing this!
What About Us airplay is also charting before 30 Days; technically it's ahead because they premiered this much earlier (naturally because of the US/Canada release in December).
