It's a bit BLAND.

Erik/Tone that is - not THE HOUSEWIVES

I was BRIEFLY about to CALL FOR YOUR DEATH

Holy shit.

*.*

My initial thoughts from the clips;

Anton Ewald - Begging - Catchy male pop, current production, he sounds a bit drowned under the production vocally but the teen girls will see he goes further. He seems to be a star in the waiting. 8.5/10

Felicia Olsson - Make Me No.1 - She looks very disconnected from the lyrics when singing the chorus but the song sounds quite good, the production is rather grand and it's all very Jordin Sparks meets Adele meets Maria Haukaas Storeng. Doesn't sound like the most melodic song ever mind. 8/10

Erik and Tone - Hello Goodbye - Sounds like it has huge potential to grow, I'm enjoying the string laden production and the presence of Tone in MF but it doesn't sound like a winner. 8.5/10

Swedish House Wives - On Top Of The World - I always enjoy these old bag diva collabs that MF throws up every few years, and this is rather anthemic! Yenny Silvair owns it. 9/10

Joacim Cans - Annelie - He doesn't look like he should be singing a folky song like this but it's quite a melodic little strummer which will no doubt go further in the competition. 8/10

Louise Hoffston - Only The Dead Fish Follow The Stream - Ridiculous song title! It's very MOR, second rate The Pierces, but not as radio friendly as Erik and Tone. That said, it's a bit livelier but this is definitely not a qualifier. 8/10

Rikard Wolff - En Förlorad Sommar - Wasn't expecting to hear a string laden ballad. This is actually very pleasant, even if his voice isn't my usual cup of tea. 8/10

Sean Banan - Copacabanana - I'm not a fan of his at all but this seems hooky, it's bright and colourful and is obviously going further. 7.5/10

Predictions:

DTF: Sean Banan, Anton Ewald

AC: Joacim Cans, Rikard Wolff

5th: Swedish House Wives

6th: Erik & Tone

7th: Felicia Olsson

8th: Louise Hoffston

Banan >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Begging sounds bland and weak - with an uninspired performance to boot. I fear for teenage girls if they vote even that through.

Felicia's song is BETTER but still it looks like something that's going to end up forgotten.

Erik & Tone - MoR but very good MoR because of Tone and that its a duet. I quite like it, although Tone is clearly the better half. Erik has a distinctive voice however, I will probably like this in its full form.

SHW - Best so far but it sounds like a bit too much generica for me to LOVE it. Really just a rather strong pop song - I do hope this qualifies based on the rest of the heat but it probably won't. Not disappointed or enlightened, about the quality I was expecting.

Joacim - I forgot this was in Swedish. It's very nice, if it qualifies I'll have no complaints. Far more catchy than I expected.

Louise - Now that's fairly good. Some nice use of instrumentation there, but my favourite thing is still that title.

Rikard - Not bad but utterly forgettable.

Sean Banan - INTENSELY IRRITATING.

I know that we only have the clips, but this seems a very predictable semi...

Bit disappointed in Hello Goodbye, it sounds good and I'm enoying it for now (plus it will probably grow) but it's a lot more twee than I expected. On Top Of The World sounds very impressive, I do love a random collab now and then and it's great. Also really liking the sound of Make Me No. 1 but I doubt that it will go further. I can imagine Rich being right with his prediction, maybe Swedish House Wives may sneak through instead of Rikkard.

Actually there's nothing overly bad in this semi for now, although a few of the songs just blend into one and seem like they might be forgotten within the semi.

Oh I actually quite like Anton's song. :( What has become of me? :drama:

Sean's chorus is catchy but I cannot even begin to understand how any of you can stand his voice in the verses.

Results from tonight's rehearsal

1. "Copacabanana" – Sean Banan: 39 % (289 röster)

2. "Begging" – Anton Ewald: 24 % (180 röster)

3. "Only the Dead Fish Follow the Stream": 10 % (70 röster)

4. "Hello Goodbye" – Erik Segerstedt och Tone Damli: 9 % (66 röster)

5. "On Top of the World" – Swedish House Wives: 6 % (43 röster)

6. "Make Me No 1" – Felicia Olsson: 5 % (35 röster)

7. "Annelie" – Joacim Cans: 4 % (30 röster)

8. "En förlorad sommar" – Rikard Wolff: 3 % (23 röster)

I'm surprised to see Joacim Cans so low, had him down top 4. Swedish House Wives are so gonna come 5th aren't they. :(

Predictions:

DTF: Sean Banan & Anton Ewald

AC: Louise Hoffsten & SHW

5th: Erik & Tone

6th: Joacim Cans

7th: Rikard Wolff

8th: Felicia Olsson

I do think Louise Hoffsten will steal the oldies vote tonight leaving Joacim and Rikard out of the running. Unless she pulls off a stunning performance, Felicia is completely out of the picture too. I think Erik & Tone will sadly suffer also. The audience Erik appeals to will be too busy voting for Sean and Anton and the audience the song might appeal to will probably be voting for Louise. Meanwhile, SHW should have a firm enough fanbase to get them through to AC in this heat I think/hope.
