I thought it would be top 100 at least :(

Because Avicii's song isn't going to stick around for very long and Thrift Shop is going to stick around for ages, therefore I would prefer a run of 01-01-01 for Thrift Shop instead of 01-02-01! :D

#1036, the highest I saw it was somewhere around #650. I really thought she had a bigger fanbase than this, even Florrie or someone would probably get higher with an OA/OS single were she to release right now.

I Love It should do well, don't think it'll get to #1 though. I just don't think Charli XCX connects to the general public and then her more hipster(ish) fans don't seem to actually support her buy buying her records. IIRC, Radio 1 playlisted (the epic) You're The One and did that even reach the top 100?

 

I just had a look at the video for Foals' My Number, pretty good! Can anyone ever see the day when Capital would play a track like this? Or would only the R1s and the more indie/alternative/rock stations remain to be the only stations playing it.

Great to see My Number doing a lot better than Inhaler, top 40 would be nice! It will be their 3rd top 40 hit and their first since 2008 :o

In the past they did. When I was in senior school Capital used to play indie/rock-ish songs. They used to have Galaxy FM playing on the school bus, I used to hear stuff like Arctic Monkeys, My Chemical Romance, Oasis, U2, The Kooks, etc. played on there.

 

After Sex on Fire/Use Somebody I hardly heard anything like that on there again. They played Somebody That I Used to Know and We Are Young last year though.

Capital playing "My Number" would be a sight indeed. For all of the head of Radio 1 going on about it, there's only so much he can do about reviving rock music as a chart force. Once the commercial stations get over their anti-snobbery I can see bands actually getting regular success again.
