Love the banner and the 1-10 bit ^_^. The bit below that (11-40) hurts my eyes a little though because it's TOO bright, but don't change it just for me :lol:

Yeah it is much too bright. Orange is a poor colour, blue (and without the excessive paleness towards the right) would be much easier to look at.

Cheers guys for the feedback - we decided to test this out, so the colour stuff brought up by Haus + Umi will be taken into consideration for when it's done next week!

Better but still a tad pale towards the bottom, would be better if you just kept the blue at the top throughout the entire thing. It's just the multichart, there's no need to make it so complicated.

 

EDIT: Orange font under the top 40 isn't nice either, how about a nice BLACK for that?

As it stands, we're trying to really gloss the multichart up, black probably isn't the direction we're going for. The feeling of 'it's only the multichart', is precisely the reason for doing the overhaul, to try and make the multichart feel like more something people should attention to!

But I don't think making it hard to read is the way to do that. The multichart is just a list of stats to be read and analysed - it doesn't need to look pretty anyway, let alone as overly complicated as it currently is. Your design skills are of course fantastic, but I don't think the multichart is the most suitable place to be making use of them. I don't see how the thin and overly bright (i.e difficult to read) orange font for #41 down is going to help draw attention to the chart either, I find it more likely that random posters will click on the thread, go "AAAAAH MY EYES IT BURNS" and never visit the thread again. Which would of course be a terrible thing to happen.

Yes but that's three people out of who knows how many and for all we know the people who hate it are too intimidated to speak lest they provoke a lethal barrage of insults! They need to be given a voice. But if you're going to do a simple second post from now on then that's fine. My eyes thank you.

I'm certainly more likely to look in here weekly now (even though I don't post my chart anymore, due to time restrictions), I think the layout looks fantastic. My only MINOR gripe is that a couple of songs had '...' where there wasn't enough room - that said, it probably looks infinitely better than if the long titles were squashed in (and definitely better than plain text!).

(Umi i'm kinda with you. I think it must just be our sensitive eyes or something :lol:).

 

And in regards to Juranamo's post, maybe make the positions/points slightly smaller or packed closer together, so the song titles and chart runs have more room?

 

But even if you don't change anything now, i do still like it (especially compared to the album multichart which has now become soo small that i just see dots :drama:)
