:cheer: I would love it if this song became a hit! What's this now your second BJSC entry to be a worldwide smash! :o

Would Ryan become the first person to have two BJSC entries that were worldwide chart hits? :o

Haha, I guess so! I hope it does become a hit, it does look like it has a good chance!

I'm sure quite a few of the older countries must have managed more than two! :o

Would people actually want to hear that Harlem Shake thing on the RADIO?! Without the video, it just sounds like a load of noise...On a brighter note, Sunset
I think they're waiting to see if Ke$ha climbs up iTunes (especially after reading that tweet).

IIRC she's on Graham Norton (or Jonathan Ross, i forget) this weekend, so if she can get a good boost off that, then they will probably playlist her next week. At the moment their doesn't seem to be a demand for the single, what with it limping low 90's even while being 59p.

I agree with Jonjo about 'I Love It'. If its destined to be playlisted eventually, why hold it back? Surely the sooner it gets airplay and becomes The Box "Video Of The Week" etc... then Icona Pop could easily have a monster hit come mid-March (the release date is 17th?) so it could even be brought forward.

As for the Ke$ha situation, it's a bit daft that they won't playlist a song because it's not climbed higher on iTunes. What's to say by playlisting the song, the extra airplay would push the song up the charts. It's like 'Alors On Danse' - every afternoon when they played it, it shot up iTunes. 'C'mon' probably won't be a top 10 hit but considering Radio 1 A-list tracks that struggle to even make the top 20, maybe they're reluctant to playlist this because they probably thought 'Die Young' would be a bigger hit (ie; peak inside the top 5 and hold up stronger).

If Radio 1 eventually playlist 'Alive' by Krewella, I'll be deeply disappointed. :D

I'm surprised how well its doing on US airplay, maybe it could be released over here in a few months! We'll take joint responsibility if it becomes a success! :kink:

I get the impression Ke$ha's going to have to become a MEGA hit before they even consider it for the playlist, which isn't gonna happen. :(

Such a shame, it's almost like watching someone you care about being pushed off a cliff.

I agree it's stupid for them to ignore, but i think that it is the reason why it isn't being playlisted yet.

"@keshasuxx has a varied response from the team. We're going to keep an eye on it over the next few weeks." seems to suggest that they're monitoring its progress and if it continues climbing they may start backing it to give it an extra push into becoming a bigger hit.

I'm more suprised that Capital haven't properly picked it up yet. It's so radio friendly (much more so than Die Young), so they should be hammering it eventually!

Oh dear at Nicole Scherzinger, being released a week earlier than The Saturdays/Icona Pop yet and will most likely be added to the playlist the same week.
The headline is very misleading and the new format is hideous. Any danger of a readable sized font?
I'd be pretty happy if you didn't post at all tbh.

I love Nicole as everybody knows. But you can't expect Radio 1 to have a playlist consisting of a dozen bubblegum pop songs.

That's because it's Nick Grimshaw's Record of the Week! :w00t: You should listen to him, his previous records of the week have included White Noise, Lost, Wild For The Night, 110%, Backseat Freestyle... :D

Grimy really has put music back to the forefront of the breakfast show in comparison to moyles mcfly style records of the week!!

As much as I'm disgusted at the state of the playlist, on the flipside my favourite song of the year so far (Disclosure) is straight on the A-List, so I suppose I should applaud them for the one thing they got right.
They should really give 'C'Mon' a chance IMO. It's not as instant as some of her previous hits but once it gets stuck in your brain, it never leaves!! I think they should have playlisted on her past success though. Die Young has hung around for a long while and she's only ever had two other top 10 hits. Saying that, it is now up to the 60s on iTunes now. Where is it getting its support from? Just the music channels?

Exactly right Eric an artist like Kesha gets plenty of promo because of the nature of the act, the fact it's struggling still shows people aren't much bothered with it.her sound hasn't changed at all since album one and the fact Is there are loads of artists like her but telling this to the female pop loving buzzjack is like hitting a brick wall lol

What?! I think the new format genuinely looks great. And what's misleading about the headline?
