FLAG

The flag's origin is derived from Cadelicia's famous apple picking festival. When the country first formed visitors from other lands would regularly help the local Cadelicians with the excessive apple trees that littered the area. Our countrymen would then share the feast of fruit with their new friends and perform traditional Cadelician folk songs and dances for their entertainment. The orange colouring represents the autumn leaves that covered the ground through the harvest months, whilst the black (and white tree) represents the bitterly cold city of Windevale, which for most of the year is cloaked in darkness and snow.

After careful consideration the Cadelician national jury have chosen their representative for the 52nd Buzzjack Song Contest. Just awaiting final confirmation before President Dewar reveals the debut entry.
Quick heads up, you won't be able to reveal your entry until the Semi-finals have begun! We operate a confidential confirmation process to allow for the veto process to take place and to give all the songs a level playing field. ^_^

That's fine! It now gives context to my "just awaiting final confirmation" part

TWENTY ONE PILOTS FOR HISTORIC CADELICIAN MOMENT

http://i60.tinypic.com/vgtswp.png

Cadelician president Lauren Dewar is proud to announce that American indie-pop band Twenty One Pilots have been chosen to represent the country at the 52nd Buzzjack Song Contest. Their song "Trees" won with the jury over other, possible future entrants. Vocalist Tyler Joseph expressed his delight at providing Cadelicia with their debut entry.

"Both myself and Josh are flattered to have been chosen to represent Cadelicia at this month's contest, we hope we can make it a debut they won't forget!"

LATIN v ROCK

http://i62.tinypic.com/k96oar.png

Twenty One Pilots - Trees | DNQ (18th - 41 points in Semi 1)

After a debut that had it's ups and downs, the Cadelician public have been given the chance to choose between two songs for April's contest. President Lauren Dewar is optimistic that the 2.5 million strong population will pick the right song.

"With the two choices, Peurto Rico (Latin) and Yorkshire (Rock), there is a clear divide. This means that there won't be many people who can't decide, the vote will probably be a landslide to either side."

DAME LA OLA FOR BJSC LIII

http://i59.tinypic.com/rkyp9f.png

The country's people have spoken! Tito 'El Bambino' El Patron has been chosen as the Cadelician representative at this month's contest. In what was billed to be a landslide, the vote was a much closer 54% to 46% affair.

In other news, Vice President Richard Pickard has been fulfilling the duties for President Dewar, who is currently taking a week off with suspected chicken pox.

INSTRUMENTAL CORE DEFY ODDS DESPITE ELIMINATION

http://i62.tinypic.com/rc7c6v.png

Tito "El Bambino" - Dame La Ola | DNQ (25th - 13 points in Semi 1)

In a disastrous turn of events, Cadelicia crumbled under the pressure and finished second last in their semi-final. With only two countries voting for the latin inspired song, it was obvious that the country had missed hitting the mark.

Instrumental Core - Become A Legend | DNQ (19th - 47 points in Semi 1)

With many other countries rating Cadelicia's chances of qualification as nill, it was a surprise to see a number of votes come in for Instrumental Core. Finishing in 19th with 47 points has this month been considered by Lauren Dewar to be a small victory.

However, there are small pockets of the community who are voicing their concerns over whether Cadelicia should bow out after failing to qualify yet again, with some of the more extreme likening our situation that that of ESC's San Marino. President Dewar remains upbeat however.

"After last month's disaster it was pleasing to have a much better showing this May. Although it is still disappointing to see us fail to qualify, coming 19th when many others predicted last has given our country hope that we can eventually qualify. We have a number of artists who are ready to submit songs for approval, so hopefully June will be a successful one!"

ZIRCON FLYING THE FLAG

http://i57.tinypic.com/bh0gzt.png

This month Cadelicia has went down the trance route. Zircon submitted three songs a long with other possible entries, but 'Shadows' caught the eye and votes of the public. There is a buzz around the country that qualification could be heading our way, but this depends on how other countries take to 'Shadows'.

We'll be the first to collate any odds that come in.

CADELICIA CRASH OUT...AGAIN!

http://i60.tinypic.com/b3lfnq.png

Zircon (feat. Jillian Aversa) - Shadows | DNQ (22nd - 39 points in Semi 1)

After what was billed as their best chance at qualification, Cadelicia have again missed their chance to appear in the Buzzjack Song Contest final. Disappointingly, zircon (real name Andrew Aversa) and his wife Jillian failed to pick up many points, languishing in 22nd place with 39 points.

President Dewar has called a press conference in the wake of the results, stating that the nation needs to get behind next month's entrant 110%. She also said that she herself is actively looking for new and exciting material in the nation of Cadelicia.

SEMI-ONE CURSE AGAIN???

http://i61.tinypic.com/sf9hjq.png

Cadelicia have once again been put in the first semi-final (5 contests in a row) and will be desperately trying to break the curse and qualify for the first time. In a controversial move President Dewar, who had submitted a song originally, called on the public midway through the confirmation process to pick a different entry. Style of Eye & Tom Staar were chosen by the public to represent the country in the 56th edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest with their song 'After Dark'. Time will tell but Dewar may still send her choice to next month's contest.

'AFTER DARK' SMASHES EXPECTATIONS

http://i61.tinypic.com/261j6mh.png

Style Of Eye & Tom Staar - After Dark | 12th (100 points)

There were parties held long into the night after Cadelicia's most successful contest to date. Style of Eye & Tom Staar smashed expecations, climbing from a predicted 25th to 12th, the second biggest climb from prediction to final placing this contest (the highest climber being deserved winner Trifoski). The pair also found out that they finished a comfortable 8th in the semi-final.

At one point it looked like Cadelicia could make the top 10 after spending most of the votes inside (and being as high as 2nd at one point), but a late drought in votes meant a slow and painful drop. Miss Lauren Dewar is hopeful that our entry for next month will fair just as well, if not even better.

"Take a weight off my chest."
The most shocking transformation ever post Tito with your last few! IF this is what i think and hope it is of your potentials, it could and should be a second qualifier on the trot.

CHARLES MURDOCH AND OSCAR KEY SUNG HOPE TO CONTINUE SUCCESS

http://i61.tinypic.com/k1s6ck.png

After the success of 'After Dark' last contest, President Dewar decided the best thing to do was to go in a more indie route, in a bid to show diversity in the country's music trends. Charles Murdoch came forward and presented her with 'Dekire', as the video had just been published and he was trying for promotion. Needless to say Dewar loved it from the first time she heard it and demanded it to be Cadelicia's next entry. Have a listen below.

What the fuck is a 'Dekire'? I assumed that was a typo of 'Desire' but it appears not.

'DEKIRE' FAILS TO ATTRACT VOTERS

http://i62.tinypic.com/rhvbia.png

Charles Murdoch (feat. Oscar Key Sung) - Dekire | 27th (45 points)

Despite coming 10th in the second semi-final, 'Dekire' was unable to build on this and slumped to a disappointing 27th. Cadelician residents remain upbeat however, expressing their delight at qualifying for the final in the first place considering the dismal odds that were put out.

Having already chosen September's entry some days ago, the search for the first Cadelician entry to a BJSC spin-off got underway. It didn't take that long however for President Dewar to find the perfect song, and confirmation went smoothly.

President Dewar and the Cadelician jury will present the two entrants when the confirmation process closes for their respective contests.
